Down at the bottom, where the links to the page numbers are for multipage threads, how's about buttons for next page, and previous page?

I would like to point out that there is already a next and previous button.  however, they take you to the next thread instead of the next page.  If something was to change it would need to be a clear distinction between the two.

The next and previous thread buttons are on the right side of the page.  The next and previous page buttons should be on the left side of the page, with the page number buttons.

I've seen some places have four links set up there:   <<  <  >  >>

The double >> will move you forward one thread, and the single > will move you forward one page.

Yuck. << should be back to page 1, < back one page, > next page and >> end of thread.

Jumping to the next thread should take up two lines on the right-hand side.

Prev. Thread "<read in title>"
Next Thread "<read in title>"

So the bottom should look something like this:
Code:
Pages: 1 2 [3] 4 5                       Return to Top                        Prev. Thread: "Ike's posts make my teeth hurt"
<< < > >>                        Return to "Off Topic" List           Next Thread: "Poll: Which mental illness most afflicts CeeKay?"

I just don't know how flexible the SMF software is.

And therein lies the rub.  There are mods that do this sort of thing, but the more mods you add the harder it is to update and upgrade.  I'm looking into the feasibility of this but I'm far from making promises.

I have no problem with the current layout.  I do have to remember to avoid using the "previous" and "next" links, though.
