Preaching to the choir

The forum is really struggling today. It took me several minutes of attempts just to get in to write this post (and who knows what happens once I push the Post button). When I click a link, the forum is likely to just stand there doing nothing for minutes at end. Stopping and retrying sometimes gets it going again, but most times the site doesn't react at all. Browsing the forums is a nightmare right now.

Edit: And now it slowed down - weird!

It comes and goes. It's fine right now, but that doesn't mean it'll be fine in 5 minutes.

No. The slowness is due to our screenshots being 1080p now, even though the galleries have a 30 image limit.

Worked fine when they were only 720p, and we could only have 60 frames per gallery.

It's cuz Ron moved the servers to cloud-based computing. Snazzy! slywink

(Although it says staff to the left, I am not in the role of sysadmin or forum admin, and as such take no responsibility in site slow-downs.) Staff who are responsible check this section for issues. I'm just pokin' fun cuz, well, it's fun. biggrin

one thing I've noticed is that if Firefox is running slow, if I switch to IE the slowness is gone.  it's really odd.

I've got an update I need to apply to the forums, hopefully it helps.  Hate this software....looking forward to the completion of our replacement project.

It's still really slow btw. It spends anywhere from a few seconds to 10+ seconds just getting a response from the server right now, and an hour ago I got error messages when trying to load pages.

While not slow I am having to log in each time I return to GT, never seen that before.

Saw the same thing until I changed my shortcut from "http://www.gamingtrend.com/" to "http://gamingtrend.com/", then I'm back to staying logged on 'Forever'. ??

Sorry - this is my fault.  We had some current members get banned accidentally (serves em right for living in countries with spammers!   icon_eek ) and I had to change the cookie to fix that.  It shouldn't happen again.

Can't wait to get off this forum software.  We are working on that after the holidays.   smile
