Just a small comment, laugh if you must. All of the computers I view the site on run at 800x600 (which unfortunately isn't changing anytime soon). The Console Gold banner and the random ad banner at the top of the screen run wider than 800 pixels (so I assume), which means that all of the threads I view stretch out with them. I've gotta scroll left and right like a chump to read things. I know you guys need to keep the ads up, so is there any way you can decrease the size of the Console Gold graphic? I know I’m on the CG forums - there’s no need to assault me with the info.

Just my cry baby thought.

Here is the strange thing, I run my laptop at 800x600 resolution at school thanks to a shite program we have to use that refuses to run at any other resolution and I don't see the left/right scroll.  Are you sure its not just messages that somebody has pasted in some uberhuge image that scrolls left/right?

KD, I see side-scrolling all the time in Firefox.  What browser are both of you using?

I use Firefox and IE depending on what I'm doing.

For me, it's every single thread, along with the index and topic pages.

I only ask because I've been told Opera (at least the latest version) has a way to fix wide pages so you don't have to scroll.

It's pretty odd that you're not seeing it at 800x600.  The logo is  379px wide and the ad is 468px wide for a total of 847px wide.

Just for fun I opened up IE to exactly 800x600, and you're right - the CG logo plus ad are longer than 800 pixels wide. Yeah, it's obvious when presented with the numbers, but I figured what the heck.

I guess the reason that none of us notice is is because we all surf at larger than 800 pixels wide resolution.

So, um ... any chance that the banner could be changed, or are us mini-screen chumps hooped?

We are evaluating the graphic change.  Give us some time.
