Yes, you read that title correctly.

There are screenshots and video floating around of a Zelda themed version if dynasty warriors coming to Wii u, developed by Tecmo Koei.

Too early for me to dig through it all, and I'm posting from my tablet. But, I think I'm okay with this. Probably won't buy it unless it has 4 player split our same screen play, because Zelda and DW are two stores I think have long been stale and milked dry.

An even match with Lu Bu? How interesting!

Tentative title is Hyrule Warriors.  You can see it at the 2:30 mark during today's Nintendo Direct video.

BTW, if you think the Zelda series has dried up, you haven't played the newest 3DS version.

Direct link to the trailer.

Actually looks pretty fun to me!  I never tried the Dynasty Warriors games because I didn't care for the aesthetic but the more cartoony look of Zelda really works for me with the game play.

+++!  I've been playing it on lunch breaks with my buddies 3DS and it's one of the best Zelda's I've ever played.

As to Hyrule Warriors - I'd rather Tecmo Koei just finally make a DW game with a decent story and graphics.  I think they always had the basis for a good videogame in terms of setting,  but they never really went anywhere with it.

As much as the concept intrigues me (I love Zelda and I really enjoyed the early Dynasty Warriors), I think I'd much rather see a Dynasty Warriors game on the PS4 or Xbone so we can see what the game is like with some truly gargantuan unit counts.

not only that, but we can finally see what happens when they give them better AI than "stand there until 3m from player, then run towards him and fall down"

Fsck. Looks like I'm getting a Wii U. frown

Also, I'm concerned about replayability. I mean, DW has always had dozens of characters with different combos and styles.

This? One.

At this point, one outlier out of a sea of boredom means little. Although I'm hopeful it empowers them to go a little crazier with the next full console Zelda.

Then again, with with game coming out, I think that's happened in some weird way.

I think I played a Dynasty Warriors game in the past and couldn't get into it too much, but this setting would be enough to get me interested so count me as in.

Given what Anouma has been saying about the Wii U Zelda to come out and what we saw with the 3DS version, I think the next Zelda will also shake things up quite a bit.  That being said, I never get tired of even the normal Zelda formula, so maybe I'm not the best judge.

I guess I see Skyward Sword as the boring outlier.

+1. I do not count the remake of the fishing game as a new Zelda.

This? One.

There could be other playable characters than just Link - Zelda, Ganon, and even some of the enemies.  They could also have different versions of the main characters (Toon Link, etc) with different looks and abilities.
