Yikes.  On one hand, make it an incredible game, bug-free and fantastic.

But hot damn, a Gamecube game that late?  Will anyone remember what a Gamecube is at that point?

Wow, that is a huge blow for the Gamecube this holiday season...and they really can't afford any more huge blows.

The new Zelda game looked pretty good, but if it is not out until Spring/Summer/Fall of next year, will anyone still care since the Xbox 360 and PS3 should both be out? Heck, even the Revolution could be out before this game gets released....or will it now be a Revolution game????

I doubt it will be a Revolution game.  Look at Final Fantasy XII, it has the chance of coming out after the PS3 is out and they aren't making that into a PS3 game.

This is a major blow to Nintendo...they now only have the strong DS lineup to really hold the line through the holidays.

Wow, what a kick in the nuts.

On the one hand, what in the hell is Nintendo going to do with no AAA Gamecube title this holiday? On the other, all praise Nintendo for bucking the trend of most game publishers and rushing a game out early for the holidays so the game can be done right. Few other publishers would do it.

Zelda development team has requested extra time to add new levels, more depth...

More content = good...but dang, that's a long wait.

What else is there coming out for the Cube this year to get excited about?  Battalion Wars, Fire Emblem?  Anything else?

This is where someone usually steps in and tells us that Nintendo is still making money and this is the best thing that could have happened.

With them basically admitting they rushed Wind Waker out the door I'm glad they're waiting.

Still sucks though.

that sucks....but did they ever say when it was being released in the first place?

hopefully the new content won't be hunting for the eight maps to hunt for the eight triforce pieces again....

at least the new screenshots look amazing....love the ones of the town/marketplace....

There was never a firm date, but I believe November was being thrown around at E3.

sucks hard, but now I can focus on both backlog and other games and hit Zelda up in the Slow Spring while most of you enjoy your 360's smile

I will however enjoy several cube games this fall, one definately being Battallion Wars, which looks freaking AWESOME.

Wow...uh..never even noticed that game....It looks like Seek and Destroy (or Advance wars in 3-d).  I"M SOO HAPPY!

*sob*

I was looking at the screenshots and thought "It's disturbing to see a bunch of cute tanks and soldiers going to war.  Who's pulling out the Hello Kitty gun?"  I have issues.

Saw the title, screamed out "Nooooooo!" Sucks that the game will be delayed. Sucks for Nintendo, sucks for holiday gamers. I'm happy that the devs were able to pipe up and demand more time to complete the game, especially since some of the big boys at Nintendo came out a few weeks ago and admitted that Wind Waker was rushed, and that they wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

I'll be buying the game regardless, but I'm still sad.

Im hoping Metroid will get cheap around (or after) the holidays.  There certainly is a bright side to being far behind the curve.

I was kind of looking forward to this one; Im just hoping there is a Biggoron's Sword again.  Adult Link with a 2h sword was pretty bad ass.

Nintendo just killed themselves for this generation with this announcement.  They really have nothing else this holiday that is buzz worthy and I know lots of people who were only holding on to their GC's for this game.  Now they don't know if they'll bother.

Nintendo can pretend all they want, but this game will sell less next year than it would have this Christmas.

If you mean Metroid Prime 2, EB has it for $30 used, and I think I saw it at Blockbuster for $20-$25.

I've heard that the DS's lineup for Christmas is very strong though, so though the Cube is getting shafted, Nintendo as a whole is still fairly solid.

Few? Short of Nintendo, there are pretty much no publishers that would've done something like this.

Talk about a killing blow to the Gamecube, though. Will we get a better game out of it? More than likely.

I can wait. biggrin

Whenever we discuss the Cube somebody has to jump in and remind us that Nintendo is on solid footing, making money hand over fist, and they own the handheld market.  Nothing to worry about in Nintendo land!

Thanks Stiff!

There are 3 rules that must be followed in here:

#1) When discussing anything that could be construed as negative towards Nintendo: Someone must remind us that they are making money and whatever the issue...it's not an issue

#2) When discussing Microsoft products: Someone must remind us that Microsoft should be hated, all the good games are better on the PC (mouse and keyboard are the ultimate controllers) AND they have no RPGs. +1 for taking shots at Gates.

#3) When discussing the PSP: Someone must mention how expensive it is/battery life and how there are no games out that interest them. This is usually followed by how great the future releases for the DS look.

You guys fire it up and can copy my rules in there. (had to append to the Xbox one)

It would be a pretty funny thread...that eventually will turn ugly and all our rules will be played out. Oh, the irony!

Oh, so I was the butt of your sarcasm??? Wicked. Personally, I couldn't care how the GB Micro or DS turn out, so I don't really care that Nintendo is evening out, any more than it allows them to continue with the Cube. I was just kind of addressing Nintendo=doomed thoughts.

Dafones - Not a shot at you by any means. It's more a natural progression in these topics.

LOVE the drinking game idea, Graham! - Someone post a new thread and we'll all add to the rules then in any post where a rule is obeyed the next post should be "DRINK".

After I post an "IN!" someone should drink too.

Get it started!
