Does anyone know how good the renewal cards are good for?  I don't know when my Xbox Live account expires, but Best Buy has a pretty nice deal on them right now.  I would just hate to buy it and then find out that six months from now I can't use it because I didn't use it soon enough.

As far as I know there is no expiration date on them.  I used mine months after I got it.  You can also check when your Xbox Live expires via the Xbox Live section of the menu.

you can use them anytime, it just extends the time (adds credit to your live account)

I did this when I got a second live kit (v3) for 30CAD (~25US)
