I'm just happy to see that there's anger here biggrin.  Over on QT3 everybody is united in "Xbox Live is dead! Long live Xbox Live!" mantra.  Boy they really are patriots.  Their console, right or wrong.

Looks like I'll be checking out quite a bit of the PSN network and I may just have to purchase Warhawk.

Man, I can't post for two days and people go fucking ballistic in order to pimp PSN. Ok, to recap. It's free, its currently up, there are like....74 people online for you to play with, the online integration with the XMB is still nonexistant, the voice chat is still messed up, and guess what? I still couldn't get online to show my dad Warhawk last night. Thumbs fully up. THANKS FOR THE INFO.

And yes, the at-home board game Live network is up and running, Nintendo's bastardized friend code bullshit service works, PSN is up and proud of it with numbers approaching triple digits, and most of your TVs work to watch football. BURN LIVE BURN.

Spoiler for Hiden:
I have a PS3. Hi2u!!

I seem to remember that they had problems with Live last Christmas too.  FWIW it seems to be OK this morning.

You've had a problem with Warhawk for months now?  I think about about a week I'd chalk it up to a user error of some sort.  Over 400k people have played Warhawk online... seems like they're not having issues.  I'd first check and see if you're wireless settings are correct.  Then I might try a wired connection to see if your PS3 is working with your internet settings.  It's important to be able to ensure your internet settings are correct before attempting to play Warhawk.

Well its definitely likely its some sort of user issue, if not error. But you and I have tried to troubleshoot this for weeks (if not months) and I can't figure it out. Hell man, I moved cross country and it still doesn't work smile

The reason 360 is hosed is because of all the holiday sales of software. A problem the PS3 obviously hasn't had.

yeah, but there I'm sure you don't run the risk of someone sending you a XBL Vision pic of their balls/ass so the unpredictability level is just 'meh'.  Tongue

Yep.

There are about 8 times as many players in COD4 than usual.  I wonder if H3 is seeing such an increase.

Bottom line, XBL needs about 100 times more servers/capacity than it already has.

Time for a class action!

I can imagine that the $37-40 sales on COD4 has seriously increased those numbers.  I know I wouldn't have bought it without that sale last week.

It's actually kind of nice to see big name games actually giving people a break in price for once, instead of having to wait 6+ months (same goes for Assassin's Creed).

I'm still having problems as of today.  I tried to log onto COD4 for about an hour.  I would get into a game lobby and get booted. I managed to get one or two games in.  Not good for the busiest gaming time of the year.

I couldn't even play a game of Catan last night.

I tried twice, and both times the game just up and froze when placing the first settlement.

Which is fine. Because I just went back to playing Rock Band.

Yeah, I did that all the way to 55. But there are too many players for most of the maps, there is no prestige mode, the stat tracking sucks compared to 360...and man, I would love to do it on PC more, but I got to 55, I did it all, and the 360 is just the better MP platform for this one.

I changed my bio on Live, and am saddened as it would apply now.

" Dont'cha wish your silver account was hot like me... Dont'cha? "

I just want it to work 24/7 ... is that not good enough? I wouldn't mind points or something.... or discounts on ANY live points due to gold status.

 deadhorse

Other than something that's obviously never going to happen?

I'd say either give Gold members some Live points, an arcade game or a free movie rental or two.  And, I would also extend an olive branch to Silver members and offer a discounted rate to become Gold members.  That's how I'd take care of it.

I would guess they will just give us an extra X days of Live the way Blizzard would do whenever WoW shit the bed.  That way they can pretend they are making it right without having to actually give us anything.

I wonder if this also indicates a huge surge in 360 hardware sales? I know an increase is expected due to Christmas, but perhaps the increase was way bigger than even MS anticipated.

The PS3 Folding@home project is actually distributively computing various ways to bring down the Xbox Live network.  The little lights it displays on the globe are the 360s around the world currently targetted for attack.
