Is that "do-do" theme in the same vein as Nintendo's "wii"? The Japanese sure do love sounds that have disgusting connotations for us English speakers.

Well, i don't suppose it's any dumber than the american xbox campaign with people jumping through hoola hoops.
I mean really- their whole marketing campaign for 360 was awful...why expect something different in JPN?
Edit: And that could be the hottest band in the country for all we know.

Something bizarre and nonsensical comes off of Japanese TV and you're surprised?

Well, i don't suppose it's any dumber than the american xbox campaign with people jumping through hoola hoops. I must have missed that one. Atcually, I think I missed most of the advertsing campaign. They had me at 'new X-Box'. Now, I actually own a 360, and whenever I slap something I do not have a green x appear. Is my unit faulty?

According to commenters on there and on Digg that's supposedly a very popular band in Japan. Go figure.

Try looking at our commercials with a critical eye... imagine you are a newly released um - something.. say, someone with no television ever, or who has come from a third world country and has never had a choice of 100 brands of toothpaste!
Swiffer, those silly mint commercials about freshening your mouth, dish detergents, hair care, Viagra, "women's products," Charmin, lol - almost all of them!
I guess, though, the bottom line is - and I think we already know this answer - are XBoxes selling in Japan, lol!

I think it's funny that an American thinks he knows how to sell Xbox's in Japan. Of course he thinks the commercial is retarded-he's an American!! Why would anybody by a shoe just because it has Michael Jackson's signature on it?? If he knew anything about Japan then he would know that Japan is idol crazy and SMAP is basically the HUGEST of huge in Japan. So if they're whoring for Microsoft and they can't get Japanese to buy Xbox's then nobody can. Fortunately we would never do something so ridiculous like that, such as using Cindy Crawford to get us to buy Pepsi.
