No bundle!

Hurry before they are gone!

(BTW, some people are saying they called wal-mart and they said this was a mistake....others are saying that they have already recieved confirmations of their orders and their cards have been charged....so roll the dice and hope for the best, I guess)

Thanks for the tip.  I almost went through with it, but the only real option for shipping was standard (the overnight and 2-3 day shipping prices are $400.00!) and it says that it will get to you between 11/24 and 11/30.  I'm going to take the risk and try to get one on launch day.

I hope that this doesn't drop the in-store launch day stock for WalMarts!

I placed an order.  Pretty sure it's an error on the website, but whatever... worst case I just cancel it.

Hetz, I truly wish you were working as John Kerry's campaign manager this past election. Things would have been so much different today.

Damn what a shame don't have enough on my debit card to order it! I am getting some money this saturday but by then no doubt the word will have gotten out and the walmart site flooded with orders until it says sold out.

Yup, I took a big gamble by cancelling my "guaranteed-by-launch" EBGames.com bundle, and went for this one instead. Figured I wouldn't mind waiting a few extra days, if that meant not having to go for a bundle with half the stuff being something I didn't even want.

Got my shipping notice this morning. No forced bundles for the gold! Now I just need to figure which games to buy.

Yeah, I'm so much happier with this deal.  When Gamestop called on Thursday and informed me I likely wouldn't get a 360 until after Christmas I briefly considered the CC bundle but since there is quite literally nothing I want for the 360 that doesn't come in the Premium pack it would be like flushing $100 down the toilet for me.  That Walmart link was a godsend.

And I don't mind waiting at all either- I'm under orders from the wife that there will be no 360 before Christmas anyway.

I'm looking at that Wal*Mart page right now.  It says they still have 360s in stock, it says that one-day shipping can have one at my house on either the 22nd or the 23rd of this week...

...and it calculates the shipping cost *alone* at $400.  That brings the grand total up to $799.92.  This has got to be a bug on the webpage, right?

Oops!  Wow, contrary to the evidence, I actually have read this thread.  I don't know how I glossed over the other half-dozen posts that also mention the $400 shipping charge.  Sorry.

Did anyone whose card has been charged select the one-day shipping?  Did it really go through as $400?

On Friday, one and two day shipping were listed at $400 but standard was, er, standard which is what everyone seems to have gone with.  No doubt those $400 shipping prices are a mistake but I wouldnt' want to trust actually ordering one with that.

I also wouldn't trust the page anymore- a lot of people who ordered "later" on Friday had their orders cancelled, presumably because the page remained up after they had already run out of stock.

I've also heard some conflicting reports on the story behind that $400 shipping. The most common line that's being fed right now is that it is a mistake, and will be fixed in a few days (most likely during the official launch date).

Yeah, as Kevin said, back when the deal first appeared on friday, 2nd/overnight shipping was $400, but the standard shipping was $12.95, which (I hope) everyone of course went with.

A friend called and talked to a Wal-Mart CSR. The $400 expedited shipping is NOT a mistake. He was told it was because of the item's "desireability."

That's absolutely nuts if that's true. Shipping is shipping - doesn't matter how 'desireable' a product is. It's Walmart who's reaming customers up the ass for 'desireability'.

Plus, tho' they're showing 360s are available now - the ONLY shipping option is the $400 one...  no standard option of any sort... or at least ast far as I was brave enough to go!

yup... $400 shipping is the ONLY option now. Wal-mart you are an evil evil place. Totally screwing over the people just because they can. I think it's in the constitution or is a fundamental law of physics that states that "Shipping shall NEVER cost MORE than what you are having shipped."  If Walmart gets away with this, they could cause a catstrophic rip in the time-space continuum through which mankind can never recover.

The end is nigh my brothers!

Wow, this is evil. I agree with you guys. This is disgusting, pathetic, greed from a company like walmart. Charge 50, even 100. But 400!!?? That is the cost of the damned system!! Insanity.

You guys that got your shipping confirmation, did you actually attempt to track your package?  Under shipping method, my e-mail said APX and it gave a tracking number.  So I hit the link from APX and put in the tracking number and it came up as a postal shipping page.  Turns out the shipping is nothing more than parcel post which is one step up from Pony Express.  I can't believe Wal Mart shipped such an expensive item via the post office.  No telling how many times it will get dropped before it gets to me.

I ordered an Xbox from Best Buy a few years ago and their free shipping was through the post office and it took 25 days to get to me.

You'll be happy to know that a few other folks are getting theirs with FedEx, or UPS.

The rest of us unfortunate souls, however, get APX. Now the waiting game begins. smile

According to a thread at Anandtech, the $400 shipping was put in place to discourage people from ordering the system (this coming from a Wal-Mart CSR). I guess it didn't work quite as they intended.
