Outside of decision to launch with shitty hardware (regardless of how smart of a business decision it was) I continue to be completely impressed and pleased with what they've done with the 360.  If this indeed turns out to be true expect me to propose marriage to my 360.  If nothing else it will keep me warm during the winter months.

Eh, it's just fancy marketing to try and cover up the massive glut of the break, refurb, and resend cycle of older 360s.  Still, Microsoft has really good marketing people, so such a thing could work.

I do like the new dashboard and avatars, screw anyone who says they're just Miis, because they are, and that's a damn good thing that features are being copied.

But this rumor?  Nope.  Not going to happen.

The most likely thing to happen is just a big media blitz, not some newfangled relaunch, that highlights the new price.

Honestly, the G4 aspect was the one thing that screams FAKE to me the loudest.  Does anyone honestly think any network would give up 5 hours of TV time and not be hyping the shit out of it a mere two weeks before the event?  Especially G4, who run ads for nothing multiple times each commercial break.

After reading the rumour, I don't know if it's real or not.

They said 5 hours of updates, not 5 hour special. That could be just like how Patrick Warburton's Tick was introduced onto FOX (or something similar).

Assuming that this is all unsubstantiated rumor (you know, BS) is not hard to do. However, lol, I would love it if they could make the Mad Lib thing work, though I can't imagine how they'd make it happen, what with cable boxes and receivers in the mix.

What I do when there is a Red Sox game on, but I haven't had any game play time yet, is to compromise.  We don't get good radio coverage here, so I put another TV on loud that I can hear while I'm on the 360 in another room.  That involves lots of running down the hall to catch a particular good-sounding replay, not easy to do when you're playing a game that can't be paused everywhere (like Infinite Undiscovery).

And I agree that it's not properly correct to call it a re-launch, unless we were all going to own brand new 360's on that day, with either a Falcon or Jasper chipset inside.  The people who start these rumors really should have a knowledgeable person proof-read them before they let them go in the wild.

LOL, actually, I think it is just the opposite - even some enthusiasts agree the game can be quite boring at times.  It was made for DS/ PSP play while watching. 

And you know what my problem is with that setup I use sometimes?  Of course, when I come back from the Red Sox re-play to whatever console game I was playing - I have no effin' clue what I was doing 2 minutes ago!

You should be able to hit Start to pause at any time in IU, except perhaps during cutscenes.

I know there are times you can pause, but also times you can't - well, you can, but you can be attacked, so that's not a true pause.  Maybe it's only battle times, but I thought it was anywhere where you might be near an enemy.  I've paused the game and gone to the kitchen, only to hear the sounds of battle after a bit.  And you can pause in at least some cutscenes, something I really was surprised by - you can actually watch the scene without fear of the doorbell or the phone ringing.

Now, what can I say to make it look like I didn't completely de-rail the thread?

AFAIK (in about 5 hours played)  you can always pause using the Start button (even in cutscenes).  It's the menu system (via Select button) that is always real time.
