So I have decided I simply will not be able to hold out.

My question is this, is anyone here getting the core system?  $399.99 is a bit hard to swallow, but the deluxe comes with a ton.

what are your thoughts?

I'm saying go for the full.  There are just too many good things about it to pass up.  If you have to even buy just one set of component cables you are already 1/5th of the way to the second sku.  Drop in the wireless and I'm sold...

Honestly I don't know how many of the neutered systems they will make.  The ratio between Premium and Neutered could be quite a bit.  Heck, in Japan they're only selling the Premium version (and for less money when you convert the price to US dollars).

Yea, kinda what I thought.

I am sure I will end up with th premium edition.

I can justify it to my wife like this:

1)  Component cables for our HD TV would be at least $40 more

2)  Live membership for one year is included, which I am also asking for for Christmas ($50 more)

3)  Wireless controllers (honey, no more ugly wires everywhere!)

Are you sure the $399 system includes a one-year Live subscription? First I've heard of that. Also, don't forget the cost of a memory card ($40) if you go for the base system. As an aside, the  forum kiddies on Gaming-Age eloquently referring to this as the 'retard pack'.

2. Yes and no.  You get Xbox Live Silver, which just allows you into the community (marketplace, messaging, downloading of updates I think, etc.).  From my understanding you have to get Gold ($50) to be able to play online.  I also believe people still on Xbox Live at that time go up for free until the next pay period.

3. Yep, although they cost $50 a pop...and if you want a charge kit, that's an extra $20 a pop. Whee!

I think its one month for the Live action on the "Big Kids" version.  The 3Shitty doesn't iirc.

Yep, forgot about the 30-day Gold trial on the Xbox 360.  Looking at Gamestop, looks like both have this.  Core System and Silver Premium Bundle.  It is noted in both versions.

Don't forget the required memory card. That's $40 right there.

The Xbox three-shitty is a joke, only used to show that Microsoft has a console up for $299.

My money is down on the $399 version.  I want the wireless!  YAY!  Of course the other factors are nice as well.
