Amid all this clamour for the PS3, Future Shop has offered an irresistable bundle for the Xbox 360

Xbox 360 Premium
Gears of War
Ridge Racer 6
Ghost Recon Advace Warfighter
Arcade pack
Extra wireless gamepad (?)

For $450 Canadian, (or $393 US)

So, have the system problems been dealt with yet?

DAMN! That is a pretty sweet ass bundle.  Especially when you consider that the XBox 360 was originally $499 Cdn (wasn't it?)

Buy that now. That's an amazing steal for the price.

To answer your question though - yeah, the launch issues have been ironed out. You'll get a great system now (not like you didn't get a great system if you bought it at launch either - just a bit more prone to problems).

I have a launch day system and (knock wood) have had no console related problems...  I know a lot of folks here have had problems, but I also think a lot of us who dont' have problems are scared to say so for fear of jinxing it?  I don't know what the official percentage failure rate has been?

That is a fantastic deal! And yes, most of the major kinks are pretty much over with for the 360. I'd still check the manufacture date on the console to be safe.

Actually I checked it a bit closer. There are two bundles.  One offers an extra gamepad, the other offers Gears of War.

Hmm, you're right. I had my eye set on the Wii though. Decisions, decisions!

Damn that's a nice bundle.  I'd say go for it-  most of the issues have been with launch systems.

You know you're screwed now, right?

Excellent bundle btw, even if they are forcing you to take RR6, see if they'll let you pay $10 extra for them to keep it. slywink

I'm actually one of the few who like the Ridge Racer series, would've prefered Project Gotham though.

I have no such fear.  I've never had a problem with *any* console, and damn near all of mine are launch days machines.

Stop being paranoid, buy the damn thing.  Get the MS warranty if you have to.

I've decided to stick to my guns and not buy. I went into EB today and took a good look at the 360 games. The ones I wanted were only 3 or 4, with 2 being full price still.

There'll be other tempting offers next year, or maybe even on Dec 26th.

I'm pissed at MS right now, but honestly, thats a great deal.  If that wireless controller is thrown in... it's pretty unbelievable.....

Too good to be true?
