Catan will be my fist XBL arcade purchase.  I played the board game once (ages ago) and had a blast, so I'll definitely pick it up again.  Guess this means I'll have to renew my Gold subscription as well.

Catan! Finally!

I really hope to get into some MP games with that! And Centipede will at least be a demo download for me.

I'll probably get Catan.  I've played it on and off over the last few years and kinda like it.  Is there going to be AI players at all?  If there are it will be interesting to see how they handle trading.

Yup, I read that they did some pretty good work on the AI.  There are various AI personalities you can play against, with more profiles supposedly available for download.

Centipede?  The demo will be enough for me...

It's from Big Huge Games, aka Brian Reynolds.  He posted some on QT3 a few weeks ago and it really gave me a lot of hope for the AI.

Centipede/Millipede is a bundle for 400 points.

Doopri - All Arcade games have a free Trial mode.  I imagine it will be turn-limited.

Pyperkub - Arcade titles are released on Wednesdays.  You should be able to pick it up at the stroke of Midnight on IIRC.

I've been doing quite a bit on Catan since this is the first time I've really heard of it...

Sounds cool.  Went through a tutorial online that had turn-for-turn what a real game would be like.  Really seems like a fun game.

In my news digging, I've seen suggestions that expansions or updates are possible (and might already be in testing).  How they will do this I do not know.  I just know I want it to be 4pm on Wednesday...I want to play!

(please note, this is rumor, and I cannot confirm this in any way)

It is.  I suck because I just seem to get bad rolls on the game, but I enjoy it for the gameplay.  Klaus Tueber (Designer IIRC) deserves credit for such a simple and direct game.  I've only encountered two other games I've really enjoyed like that, Acquire and Power Grid.  (Both of which I'd love to see on XBLA as well).

800 points is just for the base game with support for ore, grain and wool resources. The lumber and brick add-ons cost 200 points each.

I picked it up this morning and played for a bit.  They have a a mode called Learn as you Play which is what I did because I've never played the game before.  The game feels very polished and looks nice graphically.  I noticed, even on my big TV that the tutorial text seemed pretty small, so that could be an issue to some people.  It feels kinda similar in style to the way Hearts or Spades is set up on XBLA in that your gamer picture is displayed with your GT and you have the emoctions that you can use.  I enjoyed what I played of it, although I was bummed to see that it doesn't look like you can save your game in progress (unless I missed something).

It also got an 8.6 over at Team XBox - not too shabby!
