Microsoft has announced the dates and pricing for Summer of Arcade 2012 -

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD - July 18
Wreckateer - July 25
Deadlight - August 1
Hybrid - August 8
Dust: An Elysian Tail - August 15

Wreckateer is 800 points, while the rest are 1200.  If you buy any 3, you get 400 points back.  Tony Hawk, Deadlight, and Dust are the ones I'm interested in, but I'll wait on reviews.

not really interested in any TBH,i might look in on THPS,just to have a mess about, but for me at least it looks like the weakest Summer/Winter of Arcade to date

the only XBLA titles that are on my radar are Jet Set Radio(maybe)and Counter-Strike..oh and The Walking Dead episodes when they are all out

what happened to that Blacklight Tango down sequel?(the title 'Deadlight' reminded me of it),i think it was supposed to be F2P,so i am guessing MS said no,as they don't really like that kind of stuff  Tongue

I'm probably too excited for THPS HD.

Dust is the only one I know enough about to be interested in, but I'm sure I'll find at least one more appealing.

Even Wreckateer looked like goofy fun at the E3 presentation.

I play Blacklight: Retribution a lot on the PC. Good fun. And yes, it's F2P which is probably why it's PC only.

Thanks for that Az,i thought i had heard last year or when it was announced that it was XBLA bound...annoying,one thing i hope MS look at and change their mind for the 720 (F2P packages i mean, not Blacklight sequel)

Deadlight definitely looks cool, but the rest will more than likely be passes.

I will at least try everything besides Wreckateer, though I'm not sure if I can really get into a Tony Hawk game again.  Thank goodness for XBLA demos!  slywink

I downloaded the trial of Deadlight and while it looked nice and has zombies (automatons), I don't know if it will hold up for a full game's worth.  Even the preview video looked like it recycled some environmental puzzles.

I enjoy Deadlight for everything except the story writing.  That is just awful.  But I find the exploration gameplay intriguing.

Microsoft's Summer of Arcade 2012 posts uninspiring sales

Wreckateer is worst-selling title in promotion for years.

Quote
This year's Summer of Arcade promotion for Xbox Live Arcade has posted overall uninspiring sales, with Kinect Angry Birds-style game Wreckateer the worst-selling Summer of Arcade title in the promotion since at least 2009.

Wreckateer notched up just 6629 players during its first week on sale, Gamsutra reported, the worst total for a Summer of Arcade game since at least 2009.

(The promotion began in 2008, but there are no records to chart that year's sales.)

2012's selection comprised of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD, Wreckateer, Deadlight, Hybrid and Dust: An Elysian Tale.

Hybrid, a third-person shooter from Scribblenauts developer 5th Cell, followed Wreckateer as the promotion's second worst-selling game since records began. It notched up 12,168 players during its first week. 8150 gamers joined in its second week, trailing off to just 2654 more during its third.

Numbers weren't all bad - more than 98,000 signed up to Tony Haw HD during its launch week, while more than 53,000 bought Deadlight and 32,000 got swept up in Dust: AET.

Overall, 2012 has not been a bad year for Xbox Live Arcade gaming. Trials Evolution and Minecraft both smashed sales records, while indie successes such as Fez and Spelunky have found critical acclaim.

Indeed, sandwiching this year's Summer of Arcade between such highlights and Valve's Counter-Strike: GO may have exacerbated the problem.

CS:GO recorded 145,709 players during its first week on sale - demonstrating that, while this year's Summer of Arcade may have been a damp squib, there's life on the platform yet.

That's not surprising, given the middling reviews most of the games got.  Dust : An Elysian Tale is really good, though, so it's a shame it didn't sell better.

I'll grab Dust someday on sale. It's a shame XBLA doesn't act like Steam, Greenman, GOG etc with real sales...

Hybrid's pretty cool, too, but I imagine there won't be a lot of people playing it even now.

By the way, how can you sandwich something between one release?

And the fact that it's a Kinect title, something I still see absolutely no reason to own.
