X-Men Legends doesn't really impress technically in terms of sound or visuals, but it's really all about the combat anyway. The fighting is simple, addictive, and enjoyable throughout the long adventure. It's nice to see the X-Men get their due with a game that truly showcases what has made the comics great for three decades. There are a few things that will annoy people, particularly the accidental suicides, but most of Legends is a joy. The story is good, very fitting for the X-Men universe, and every character but Cyclops is perfectly realized. It's more fun with friends, but is still enjoyable all by your lonesome. With a long, involved story mode and bonus modes beyond that, this one will take up a chunk of your life. X-Men Legends is a must for any X-Men fan or fan of dungeon-crawling RPGs.

Oh no doubt.  I was all over this when I saw it at E3...or as some would say...

"IN!"

(that better not be catching on as our catchphrase...heheh)

I was completely impressed with it at E3.  Stan Lee briefly looking over my shoulder as I played it was something else! smile  He was the most famous person I met at the convention, you?

I saw the Thief/Deus Ex creator (name just slipped my mind), Lord Whatever from Evercrack, Xibit from MTV's Pimp my Ride and a few others.

Too many fricking games coming out.  I may rent this before I buy just because I don't have any friends that live close by to play with, which I surmise is the best way to play this game.

As I keep saying over and OVER again...

Devs - release your games throughout the year, and people will buy more of your games!

I should pick this one up though, as I've been looking forward to playing it after my time at E3. Now to try to find a steal on the price, as I have too many games on my plate as it is...

Amen to that.  Just when I think there's going to be a break, another good game shows up.

Of course, I am IN. smile

I'll also agree. WAY too many games coming right now. Of course, no one's actually forcing me to buy most of them, but umm...

...

...um, yeah.

It's IN! my rental column... I mean hey, Dynasty Warriors 4 got the same score, and it's addictive like heroin. Imma big fan of 4 player mayhem, sooo, there's a good chance this will end up in my collection.

In the IGN review they mentioned that all the characters are fleshed out very well, with exception to cyclops. There's a reason for that; he's a frickin' cardboard cutout. Even the *COMICS* couldn't make him interesting.

Oh, come now. He was a great Ryu/Ken clone in X-Men vs Street Fighter, which I played in perfect arcade form (and no loading time) with my Japanese import on my brother's Sega Saturn (with 4MB cart).

Why the hell I just said that I have no idea.

Cyclops was my favorite character in Xmen: Children of the Atom.

He was also pretty cool way back in the day in Xmen: Mutant Apocalypse on the Super NES.

Anyway, as said in other threads, despite my aching wallet I think I'm going to end up with this game in my collection on Friday.

Because the Sega Saturn was the greatest 2D fighting console ever released?  One could argue the NeoGeo had the crown, with the Samurai Showdown and KoF titles, but they didn't have those crazy Capcom imports!  I still have my Saturn with a built in switch to play imports along with a stack of 4MB carts and a ton of fighting insanity.  Pocket Fighter rulez, yo!

Gambit has always been my favorite as well.

It looks like he is going to be in X3.  Wasn't that who they showed at the end of X2, as a kid playing cards?

Nightcrawler owns all of you, and he made love to your wives too.

I can't wait till I get him in the game.

When I read X-Men I really liked Bishop.  I also liked Cable, with his gizmo know-how, but I think they went crazy with him when he was hot.

Gambit was neat, but I didn't go wild for him like many.

I thought Longshot was lame but loved all the MojoWorld stories!

I have no willpower.

That's code for: I just bought X-Men legends and may have crippled my financial situation for the next week and a half or so.

Speaking for the comics, not the game here :
Nightcrawler gets my vote for favorite X-Man.  Great character and great power.  I'm so glad he made into X2.
For some reason I can't stand Gambit.  His power is pretty cool, but as a character he's kind of annoying.  Maybe it's the way his Cajun accent is written, I dunno.

Nth -  No love for the Cajun Prince?!!

No Problem... Maybe i needed to post a different picture:

Gambit says, "Be well Mon Ami"

Now tell me... Can you get ANY cooler than that?   I think not.
