I'm surprised I haven't seen any mention of this, since it's due this summer.  We return to Wolfenstein again (you'd think they'd find a new place since it keeps on getting attacked  icon_wink )  it looks to be more Supernatural Nazi goodness again, which I can live with.

just one thing:

Looks like someone has been watching the Jin-Roh anime.  Tongue

And hopefully they put in enemies that actually react to being shot.  I'm a bit tired of doom style enemies where all you see when you shoot them is a blood sprite and a grunt sound, but otherwise they're perfect fine and keep shooting at you like nothing happened.

I think it's because they just announced the thing a few days ago. I know I haven't heard of it until now.

Game Informer had a big article about it last year, it even made the cover IIRC.  here's a first look from IGN.

I sort of enjoyed Return to Castle Wolfenstein's multiplayer (developed by Verve, if I recall; not the single player portion dev Gray Matter); I didn't much care for the single player, especially the ridiculous "table Cossack dance" that the German troops would do instead of say, taking cover - I guess that was too much to ask of a 2001 era game.  icon_razz

If you don't hear much about the latest iteration, it's probably because Wolfenstein's Zeitgeist moment was 1992...

I heard about this one last year. The last game was just so....average. Not bad, but not really exciting either. Probably pick this up but it's hardly a "day 1 gobble up all the news I can till it comes out" title. The only one of those i currently have is Dragon Age. I was kinda like that about Bioshock 2 but playing as a big Daddy doesn't really do it for me.

That was kinda cool.

I hope they have some kind of massive media blitz in the next month as I haven't seen hardly anything about this yet. I'm guessing there will be some kind of big reveal at QuakeCon?

Here is about 7 minutes of Xbox 360 play  I have to say if there was any competition for FPS right now I don't think this would sell until it hit the bargain bin but when it is a one man race that one is the winner!

A saw two of copies at Target this last Saturday, but passed because I could find absolutely no info on what sort of DRM Activision is using.
It shows nothing on the back of the box about activation or limited installs, but neither did the last Alone In The Dark game, also published by Activision, which turned out to have both.
So I'm waiting.

OK, I installed it and played a bit.  first off:

THERE IS NO SAVE ANYWHERE OPTION

that said, it's fairly fun so far.  enemies seem to go down in a few shots, and I even had one get shot in the throat and do the whole gurgling with blood gushing death scene.

some random screenshots:

and Hans dives for the ball!

OMG! FLOATING HITLER!  RUN!

Wolfgang is a lucky man.  or was a lucky man.  before he caught a bunch of bullets.  maybe I get to console her later.

Question on the Intelligence gathering in the game. So, you push a key/button to 'pick it up' like anything else but you hold it down to read it, right? With a little progress bar and everything. However, is there a way to read it after you pick it up or is the only chance you get while you are picking it up?  icon_confused

So based on your pics we are to assume that everything just floats in the air?  Furniture, pictures, vases, nazis?
How odd looking.

Graphics look kinda meh as well.  Add the no save and I am meh on the whole game.

No save anywhere =epic fail for me. Unless everything else about the game is really compelling. This isn't.
