RROD - Red Rings of Death is so catchy . . . I wanted my own acronym, so . . .
NLOD - No Light of Death.
Got home from work yesterday, noticed the wii's indicator light was not on . . . not yellow like it should be, so I asked my wife who unplugged it and got a shrug.  Later I was going to play RE4 and lo and behold . . . everything is hooked up . . . the Wii is dead.  Tried their website's suggestions . . . tried other outlets, no luck.  No blockage of the vents, adequate space around the system . . . I already had applied the update to cool the system off when using Wiiconnect.  The last thing I had done was download the Metroid channel 2 days ago . . . so now I get to test Nintendo's customer service.
With a bricked PSP last year (due to a legitimate Sony fw update), my 360 dvd drive making chainsaw noises on certain discs (ticking timebomb) . . . and now this?  My job of convincing my wife for a PS3 for XMAS, just got a lot tougher . . .

Edit . . .
I brought the console and ac adapter to work with me to call their support and plugged it in . . . and it booted up . . .  icon_biggrin
now I'm confused . . .

Having it powered off and unplugged for the duration of your trip to work probably did it.
Devices don't power off when hit power buttons anymore. The cool-off time was what it needed.

I would still get them to replace it; something is wrong.

I've read that the Wii failure rate is somewhere around 90%.

If you have a power outage or even if it blinks you may need to unplug the Wii for a short period and plug it back in; happened to me as well came up fine no issues since.

I've heard that you can fix them buy cutting open a Tauntaun and stuffing it inside.

Glad to hear your Wii is working again!
