I'm not sure if this goes in console or off-topic I guess this is one of those "I have the best wife" threads. I got married Memorial Day weekend, and the night before the wedding my then-fiancee presents me with this heavy wrapped present (which she has been teasing me about for about 2 weeks). She says open it up with your friends and then there is something in the car that you might want for it. Open it up to reveal this heavy metal case, and upon opening it I find a new Wii, 4 remotes, 2 nunchuks and Sports, Play, Twilight Princess, Paper Mario and Madden. I was torn between thinking about how amazing she is and how upset I was that she spent that much money The thing she hid in the car was our portable DVD player. Unfortunately (I really needed to get to bed anyway), we didn't have the right cables to hook it up to the player, so I had to wait a week to fool around with it. So I have my first next(ish) generation console...

Throw in an overnight drive to our wedding location and a few very late nights catching up with old friends and I was ready to use the Wii as a pillow.

Throw in an overnight drive to our wedding location and a few very late nights catching up with old friends and I was ready to use the Wii as a pillow. I am right there with you; two weeks to go and I will be married! It is exhausting and stressful, but definitely worth it. I don't know what my wife-to-be is getting me, but I know it will not be a Wii since I already have one. She could get me a DS, but I am starting graduate school soon so it doesn't seem like a good idea. Congratulations! Best of luck!

<insert funny Firefly comment about Jayne wanting to make a trade> Congrats on your wonderfully understanding wife. And also consolations to her for her soon to be game widow status.

And also consolations to her for her soon to be game widow status. Actually, she got the Wii because it was the system she thought she would be most likely to play. So hopefully it will lead to some playtime together, which I am open to. Unless I am playing some of my xbox, ps2 or gamecube backlog, of course.

Right on, but yeah. Be careful, I see more major purchases in the near future! Like 50 pairs of shoes.
