Then it would cross from a "Ill buy it when it hits $20 dollars" to a "gotta have it now" title...

Oh well

The whole first 2/3 or so of the game is pretty much "sandbox" mode. You can take missions whenever you want them to happen, and in whatever order. I spend probably just 2 days on tinkering around and building up cash and the base before I even took on more than 2 missions. The last part of the game -does- get a little hectic and linear, but it's fun. I guess I put 2 weeks straight into the game, sometimes more time per day than I really should have  , but I don't regret it one bit - and I even pre-ordered it at full price. -I- think it was worth it.
Hope this helps some biggrin

CGW gives EG a 2 1/2 star rating..they cited lack of a sandbox and a bunch of other flaws in it. Surprised me. Im not buying it now.

Hmm, I don't understand why a sandbox mode is really necessary with this particular game. I think if this game didn't have objectives for you to fill, then I don't really think it would be that fun.

All you would be doing is just earning cash through away missions and building up your base against attacks. There wouldn't be any plot to follow. I suspose their could have had random events to keep things interesting in sandbox mode but I understand why they left it out.

As it is, building and defending my base feels like a big sandbox mode and there is no rush to perform missions as far as I can tell but Im still in the beginning of the game.

The Gone Gold Effect has a strong influence on the weak minded ...
