It has wireless built in. Wireless is pretty prevalent in homes today.

Their online stuff (besides Virtual Console) is free, by the way. Pretty intelligent if you ask me.

Quoted for truth... You actually Can't connect it via usb unless you buy the usb ethernet adapter. System is definitely meant for Wi-fi homes.

I really hate the fact that they didn't include a wired port.

I'm hoping he was just drunk when he posted.   icon_lol

Sounds like with your setup, wireless is the way to go since you computer is downstairs.  Hopefully you have a wireless router (pronounced rooter over there).  If not, time to buy one.

yeah...er no on the drunk thing...just really cheesed off that i had to go and make another 45 minute trip to town and spend another 30quid so i could get the shopping channel up

still think it should use ethernet(even ethernet wireless if there is such a thing)..ethernet is faster than USB

anyway....i had to buy a 'nintendo WI-FI USB connector' for 30....so i could go online with it,spent a couple of hours getting used to it and setting the damn thing up,thankfully i have it all worked out now...but the ethernet homeplugs i bought last week are now sitting on a shelf not doing anything

so,i had 2000 points to burn...saw mario 64 for 1000....then decided that i didnt want that...i'll get it eventually, but i hear its not the DS version but the old 64 version...i liked the DS version you see with the extra characters and that..so i will stick to the DS version for now

got donkey kong country for 800 points, the game has actually aged better than i thought it would of

so i have 1200 points left, may get sonic...not decided yet

played wii sports......a lot of fun....even if i was just on my own

favourite was prolly golf, boxing wore me out,LOL
tennis, not really got to grips with yet,i'll give it another go soon
baseball was so-so,but couldnt get to swing the bat on time...couldnt get it right on time
bowling was fun,i liked that, got 1 strike and 3 spares on my first go

got zelda(and the bradygames guide after someone on here said they wished they got it after missing stuff)
not played it yet.....its like leaving the best thing on your plate until last so you can savour it,LOL

so yeah the original post i made i was really pissed off,but now that everything is done and fixed(with more money spent and messing about with the drivers on the PC and settings on the Wii)..i am very happy>>>>>>see>>>> icon_biggrin icon_biggrin icon_biggrin

PS The Guru>>>correct on the pronouncenation...you guys pronounce it 'rout' dont you

The Wireless connection is some flavor of 802.11, which isn't as fast as standard ethernet, but much faster than USB.  Somewhere in the 30-50Mb a second range, IIRC.

Like everyone else has said, get a wireless router if you don't have one.

I really have no desire to use wireless, I can run wires to any room of my house, 80% of my rooms are already wired anyways.

Yeah I wish it had a normal ethernet port as well. My router is 6 feet away from the Wii. Seems silly to use wireless. But I'm not going to plonk down more cash for the adapter.
