A couple videos
It looks much better in motion, the screens alone are kind of plain.  How long as it been since the last 2d Mario platformer?
[*]The DS dual screens are pretty unnecessary, but it is kind of neat that when you go down a pipe, you move down into the bottom screen.
[*]Mario jumps for a flagpole at the end of the first video
[*]It sure looks like 2 player co-op, anyone know for sure?
[*]All the classic elements are there, fire flowers, flying turtles, pipe plants[/list]
Old style 2d gameplay with 3d animated characters, with Animal Crossing and Advance Wars, I'm starting to actually want a DS!

Looks like fun ... on one screen. No one seems to be able to know what to do with the second screen - not even Nintendo! If Nintendo itself can't use the second screen creatively in one of its flagship titles, what does that say about third parties that really have no need to support the handheld? Does that make any sense?

Awesome.  Viewtiful Joe showed that you can still make a kickass psuedo-2D game, and I would welcome more 2D Mario goodness.

Now if they would only make a true sequel for Yoshi's Island....

Finally watched the videos - man, that's one big-ass Mario.  I especially liked how the enemies can also eat magic shroom and make themselves huge as well.

And Luigi gets the shaft again!  Someday, living in Mario's shadow is just going to be too much, and Luigi is going to beat Mario to a pulp slywink

I didn't like either Super Mario 64 or Sunshine, so I'm glad Mario's going to be in 2D again.

Heh, it was the same thing in Mario & Luigi (GBA)... but thankfully they made up for all those years of Luigi playing second fiddle in Paper Mario 2.

Nope.  A new M&L game was announced and shown too but this is the new sidescrolling platformer.

Looks great!  This integration of 2D and 3D is one of the DS's strengths IMO.

Not interested in the least. Not sure why, guess I just don't like 2d platformers like I used to.
