Reading through all the 360 crap and a lot of you guys are OUT! mostly due to Oblivion slipping. Personally, I can't think of a game I'd want LESS than Oblivion. I understand I might be on an island with this one but am I alone? Fire Away!

I'm back and forth on it. I think it would be a rental for me, but my wife really liked Morrowind so maybe she will buy it.

If the open-endedness of Morrowind wasn't enough for you, I can't help you. Oblivion looks to be the same, except they are making the world actually seem alive which was the biggest complaint by most people.

Ambivalent is how I would describe myself. I'm sure I'll play it feverishly for a week straight and then have no desire to ever touch the game ever again, just like I did with Morrowind.
Redguard is IMO the best Elder Scrolls game yet.

I finished Morrowind and Tribunal. I liked them well enough to want to go back and finish Morrowind + Bloodmoon + the free Wizard's Isle expansion.
I'll get around to Oblivion eventually but there's no rush. And I'll definitely get the PC version.

I'm really not all the excited about Oblivion, but I'm sure the forum hype (thanks Hetz!) will eventually break me down. And, like with Morrowind, I'll play for a week or two and then find something else.

I was excited when I thought it was coming out in a couple of weeks, but now that's it's been pushed back until early 2006 at the earliest I've decided not to get worked up again to avoid disappointment. I didn't get Morrowind for about 6 months because of other games being released and the same may apply to Oblivion. Hell, I was even putting off returning to WoW for the game.

Know what the voice in my head says when I think about any of the Elder Scrolls games?
"Booooooooooooooooorrrrrrriiiiiiiinnnnnnnnggggggggg."
And it says it just like that. With all the extra letters and everything.

The game is reputed to be easier to follow the storyline (much like Ultima7pt2 had a more cohesive feel to the story than Ultima7 did).
I dunno. I'm stoked for it. I'm not bustin' at the Myto / Hetz seams for it, but I'll get it when it comes out.

Open ended games always start out well for me then I get bogged down in all the side quest stuff and forget what I was supposed to be doing. All that being said I'm sure some day I'll pick it up, I'm just hoping it won't be at full price when I do.

I'm sure I'll get it eventually, but the Elder Scrolls series has never really buttered my toast. I definitely appreciate the hard work and effort that went into Daggerfall and Morrowind, but I prefer a slightly more linear gameplay experience.

Count me in with the ambivalent crew. Also, I'm waiting for the PC version because the mod community is sure to add in a better campaign than Bethesda will.

Oblvion is that which got me interested and excited for the 360. I can wait and will do so happily if it means a good solid game.
Morrowind remains one of my few 'wow' moments of gaming. I can understand that it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.

I'm very interested in Oblivion, but I refuse to purchase a $400 system when it is the only game that interests me. So it'll be a while until I play it.

I bought the Morrowind GOTY edition for the PC and had a lot of fun.
Never played the game, but I spent hours downloading and catalogging a DVD full of mods and stuff. Having enjoyed that so much I decided I got my $20 worth and never bothered installing the game.
I love my Morrowind mod DVD!
I traded to get Morrowind GOTY for Xbox. Also got the big guide. That's a nice big book.
So I will probably buy Oblivion, but I'm not necessarily excited about the game. If nothing else it will remind me of that heady night spent scouring the net for Morrowind goodies.

I sorta like Morrowind, *sigh*...so I guess I'll sorta get in line for Oblivion, you know, if it ever comes out...
And here I thought the timing was perfect - I'd much rather lose a winter to Oblivion, than the spring and summer I lost to Morrowind.
Sorry, Devil - I have no problem with open-ended games, in M'wind, there was a main quest thread that you could keep doing if you wanted to, and it was easy to figure out what to do next, but there were also all those fun caves and castles, guilds and Houses, and chests and barrels... oh my!
I'm being tortured, I'm sure, because of a past life injustice! So, I'm sorry already, please stop!!! :\
