This isn't a flame-topic, please keep the "M$" bashing to a minimum. Also, the scope of discussion doesn't extend to what options Sony or Nintendo may offer; that is all subject to change after all.

The prices do not include games, that's too "all over the place" to try and poll out. That, and extra controllers.

Yes, with MS's bait-n-switch marketing I suppose the360 is still subject to change too. slywink

I went with the Best Deal option.

When you add in games though....my total is going to be way more than $399.

I'm in the Decadence list but its more out of necesessity to review product than anything else.  Barring that I'd be in the MSHFT category. slywink

You don't have my option - wait for a year and see if they drop the price to compete with the PS3.

I put down BestDeal option -- however I'm definitely more in the 'wait until the BestDeal option has a pricedrop or two'.  Not enough disposible income this fall unfortunately.

Best Deal assuming I get one this Christmas.  Depends on how much trade-in credit I can get for my Xbox and games.  If I can reduce the out of pocket cost to $200 then I'm pretty much a shoe-in to get one.

If Sony should pull a rabbit out their hat and announce a spring 2006 launch in the US then I'll probably wait however.  The 360 is almost guaranteed to drop $50-100 the day the PS3 hits the market and I'll feel pretty ripped off if that price drop occurs in the first six months of the 360's lifespan.  Probably not a concern though because I don't expect release dates from Sony anytime soon.

Competition is good.  Long live capitalism.

I'm waiting.  I might actually buy an Xbox 1 in the next 4 months.  I'm guessing there will be some people selling theirs...

Wait and see(the), here.  If there's an act of god and the trend becomes that the HDD actually sees good use, I'd consider purchasing the 'Deal' version, depending on the current and projected library.

I chose Best Deal, but I may or may not get one early on depending on my cash flow come the holiday season.  I still don't like the idea of shelling out $400 for a system, when I know after a few months the price is going to drop.

PS3 for me, and maybe a 360 (if it gets any good RPGs other than Oblivion), but only after the 2nd or 3rd price drop.

Definitely $400 option, but the question is when.  I'm hoping to hold out until the PS3 info starts to trickle in so I can make my decision, but if there's a game I have to play before then, I'll plop down the cash.

I'm all over the $399 deal... though I'll probably use it as a Media Center Extender (and hopefully some Xbox-backwards-compatibility-lovin') until some AAA games come out.

I'll be getting all 3 consoles, but only when they hit $200.  I'm stockpiling PS2, XBox, Gamecube, and GBA games in order to survive the wait slywink

I'm waiting.

At least until I know what the PS3 has to offer.  Unlike the last round of consoles, this time I'm hoping to only buy 1.

Invisible Rep+ I have been telling people that over and over and again, seems like nobody is listening. Which is sad, because people are getting rip off. Its all a plot to take people money, and i for one, wont be falling for it.

I'm waiting until the dust has cleared and the prices have dropped to the $200 range...hopefully, I'll be able to stick with one console.  I've got more than enough unplayed console and PC games to keep me occupied until then.

No doubt. I say you should grab it when its at 150 new or 130 used tho, thats what i plan on doing. And yea i got plenty of games to keep me busy, from 2 boxes full of dreamcast games, to over 35 xbox games, i think 396 pc games, 20 n64 games and plus mame games.

I'm not really focus about the next generation of systems anyway, so it really dont matter.

I will probably get the big boy model and two games to play.  I will buy the extra controller when I need it (be it a few weeks or a few months).  Depends on the launch games, but I know I will want at least two games to switch between.  I hope there are plenty of reviews before the thing launches so I don't get stuck with some crap launch titles.

I'm all about the wireless controller since my cat thinks controller cords are the greatest things ever.  The Logitech PS2 controller is awesome, but I've yet to find a great wireless Xbox controller.  Luckily I've been happy with the feel of all the standard controllers from the start (luckily I started with a Controller-S and not The Duke).

At least I won't have to buy a bunch of extra stuff when I get the main box.  How thrilled I was when I got my Xbox that I wasn't required to buy a $30 memory card!  I wouldn't have felt as miffed if Sony charged $30 more for the PS2 if it came with the memory card.  I just like to have it all in one "I know the price up-front" fell swoop.

I gotta salute all you guys going whole hog with the decadence option!

I dont know right now.  I will probably get the $399, but who knows when.  I dont have an HDTV and I prefer PC games to console games in general.  Plus the HD not being part of the base package is annoying as hell.

I'm starting to lean in this direction myself. My rational brain tells me that this would be the most logical, cost-effective way to go.

But I don't have much willpower when it comes to new toys, so I voted "best deal". That's probably the way I'll end up going.

I'm getting the MSHFT Decadence option, although I put MSHFT option originally. I need me some recharging and second controller.
