So what is everyone playing this weekend? A buddy of mine lent me Age of Empires III a few months back and I finally got around to installing it about 48 hours before I bought Titan Quest (damn you GT Effect). I have to be uber-quiet tomorrow for six hours straight as My Fair Lady takes a practice bar exam downstairs in the dining room so I'll be burning through both of these. Also, I'm about ready to uninstall Oblivion as the vaunted "scalable" system should never have been used and I don't want to restart (again) with a mod that fixes it. Who knows, I may just put it on hold for a while.
So what is everyone else playing this weekend?

I'm trying to get into Grandia 1 for the original Playstation.
I'm also going to spend some more time with WoW - some QT3'ers have started a new Horde guild and I've never done most of the Horde instances.

I'm nearing the end of FFI on the GBA, but am getting the itch to try something different. Some candidates are Skies of Arcadia (DC), finish Shenmue (DC) 2 years after starting it, or a Playstation RPG like Xenogears, Suikoden, Lunar, Grandia, etc.

Beggar's Prince and Rise & Fall for the most part for the reviews.
I really wish I could get my stuff sold so I could get a PC at the end of the month. Doesn't look like it's going to happen though.

MORE TITAN QUEST!!!
I'm so in love. This++ more ++ I haven't played anything else since I started this. Same here. Gotta get a little work done this afternoon so I can spend the rest of the day playing Titan Quest guilt-free. I just hit Egypt and level 18. Hopefully it'll get harder because right now it's addictive but not all that challenging.

I have selected a game from my backlog to play next. So this weeked, I am playing Shadow Hearts:Covenant. Gotta say, I'm only a couple hours in, and I already think this game is hilarious. As Penny arcade somberly observed, 'I'm looking for gay porn so I can get a grown man to give me a dress for a doll'. I honestly wonder if these guys were high when they wrote this game.

Definately one of my favorite characters from any RPG.

I want to get into Chromehounds. I like what I've tried so far, but spent the better part of 4 hours sitting at the main menu trying to join the squad.
Played some Exit on the PSP. This game has a ton of potential but suffers from some bad design decisions (jumping is like original Prince of Persia unforgiving, bastard is so slow climbing stairs and ladders). I'm a sucker for puzzlers so I've stuck with it. I'm sure if it were on the DS people would be pissing their pants over it.

I also tried Exit recently, I found it far too slow paced for my likes. The jumping frustrated me right from the tutorial when I had problems doing a running jump. I thought I was done with the game right then and there. It took me far too many tries to do that right. It was just so unresponsive I couldn't believe it. I thought the button on my PSP was broken. I've learned to compensate, but it's a bastard when you are cruising and then get to a running jump and just know you're going to blow it and have to do it all again. My problem is, despite these problems, I like the concept so much I can't help myself. Plus it just looks so slick. Not awesome graphics, but so sharp and stylish.

When I get on today I will work in the lobby for a bit. If you do not have me on your friends list add me, and I can work with you in private chat to walk you through getting in. Also anyone who was getting failed to connect messages, please read my thread about connection issues on XBLive with Chromehounds, if yuo are behind a router there are some settings you can change to help with that.

Exit was a game I anticipated for months. I love puzzle games. Really like the art direction...the game is so stylish. I LIKE the controls having played the original PoP on the Apple ][+. The game still left me flat and I quit playing after the first series of levels.
I think my chief complaint was sound design. NPC chatter is absolutely atrocious; I wanted to get to the end of the level just to make them stop. From what I remember music was ok but repetitive.
While the controls didn't bother me so much (because I consider it to be part of the puzzle and yes I certainly had my share of jump mishaps) I also really did not like the fact that you can't view the entirety of some levels. When you combine the layouts, plus the inherent difficulty of the control scheme, plus having to go through areas just to find out that you had to do something with an object back at the start but couldn't possibly have predicted that...well it became more work than fun at that point. Added to that we have a time limit *sigh*
My preference is for more relaxed, analyze-and-ponder-the-solution type games to those that use a timer as part of the challenge.
