For me it's Burnout 3, HL2, Brothers in Arms, Halo 2 & Rome: Total War. There are more, but those are my absolute must haves. What a great time of the year

Primarily Fable and Evil Genius. I am curious if "Kingdom Under Fire:Small Business Edition", or whatever its called for the XBox, will be any good. I also am curious about Galleon, but not $40 curious. If ti drops to $20 it will make it on my Xmas list though...

(will get) I would dare say that the interesting time in 2004 will be Sept./Oct. over the usual Nov./Dec. push. I probably won't buy a lot right when they come out. The key ones would be Burnout 3, Halo 2, Fable, The Sims 2, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, Prince of Persia 2, Jak 3, Ratchet 3, MGS3 and Gran Turismo 4 probably. /me looks at wallet and hears it whimper

I am curious if "Kingdom Under Fire:Small Business Edition" EGM did not have the game in time to do a full review, but their little short take on what they had played of it made it seem like it was better than they thought it would be in the latest issue.

HOCKEY!!!!!!!! EGM did an NHL 2005 vs. ESPN 2K5 thing this month. Let's just say that ESPN ran away with it. I think the scores were in the 8s (with maybe a 9) and NHL 2005's scores were in the 5s and 6s (I don't have the issue in front of me at the moment). I know you weren't too enthused with ESPN last year and I don't know what they've changed or if they've changed what you didn't like.

As long as they changed the idiotic goaltending in ESPN. That's all they needed to do! I also find it hard to believe that NHL 2005 would be that bad of a game. Other than the over-done checking it was a pretty solid game last year. Let us know if you hear/see anything else. We can turn this into a hockey thread!!!

First of all, I'm ready for the humidity to go away. Secondly, I'm ready for school to start. Third, I'm interested in seeing if I can develop a community at my website once I finish tweaking things. Games(disclaimer, I don't know when any of these come out): Fable, Burnout 3, Pirates, Jade Empire, Guild Wars, Halo 2.

Ahem.
Consoles:
Halo 2 Fable Prince of Persia 2 GTA: San Andreas Metal Gear Solid 3 (cries)
PC:
Half-Life 2 Evil Genius Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines Brothers In Arms (This is a huge maybe though)
/looks at shrinking bank account and sobs
Man, I was thinking I'd be a lot better off this fall than that. This is also not taking into account my DVD obsession either.
/cries some more

Day One Purchases Star Ocean 3 Sly 2 Fable Growlanser Generations Doom 3 ( Xbox) Prince of Persia 2 Splinter Cell 3
MAYBE PURCHASES Phantom Brave X-Men Legends Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Paper Mario 2 Suikoden IV Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal Halo 2 Metroid Prime 2 Digital Devil Saga Jak 3 Wild ARMS: Alter Code F Kotor II
I'm really looking forward to Star Ocean 3 and I'm really not sure why. I played about an hour of Second Story, but that's about it. I guess the Robotech nerd in me always goes for the space opera setting. Sly 2 is easily my most anticipated game this year. I know very little about the Growlanser games, other than they are strat RPGs, but it's from Working Designs so I'll get it just to support the company. I'm sure it'll be good, though. PoP2 I'll buy on the strength of the first game, but I'm incredibly nervous about them turning it into Prince Of Perisa: Vice City. Splinter Cell 3 is a no brainer. I'm a sucker for stealth games.
On some of the maybes, I'll pick up Halo 2 if the single-player campaign is significantly improved. No repeating rooms, please. I'm really interested in the Ratchet & Clank 3, and Jak 3, but I still have Going Commando and Maximo sitting on my shelf unplayed, so I can't justify buying any more platformers until I've gone through those. Still, anyone see screenshots of the side scrolling minigames in Ratchet & Clank? It looks really cool. I have the same issue with Phantom Brave. I have yet to get through Disgaea, Front Mission 4, or La Pucelle Tactics, so no epic length strat RPGs for me until I've taken care of a few of those.
For some of the Japanese RPGs, I'll pick up a few of them if they get solid reviews.

whiteboyslim, why is Brothers In Arms a huge maybe? It was the Game of the show for me at E3. It's already incredible and it's made by Ubi Soft, who delivers a majority of the time.

Because off the top of my head I'm not sure whether it's the type where you control your squad from afar or while in the thick of combat. right now, F.E.A.R. is the big must have title next to HL2 so if I have to save money into next year for something, it will be F.E.A.R. over Brothers.

Well let me confirm for you that you control one of the Squad members in real time and can issue orders to the others. You can zoom out and issue orders to allow for more strategic advancements on the enemy. The AI is amazing. The graphics are amazing. The entire atmosphere made my jaw drop. I played a little of it after the 15 minute presentation and was equally impressed.
