Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away...Now it looks as though they're here to stay...Oh, I believe in yesterday... Okay, okay, I'll put down the mic and do what I do best. To the release list!

PS2:

PS3:
Dirt 2
Mini Ninjas
The Beatles: Rock Band

PSP:
Dirt 2
Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days
IL 2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey

360:
Darkest of Days
Dirt 2
Mini Ninjas
Qubed
The Beatles: Rock Band

Wii:
Dirt 2
Go Play City Sports
Mini Ninjas
The Beatles: Rock Band

DS:
Ant Nation
Dirt 2
IL 2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey
Imagine: Detective
Mini Ninjas

PC:
Darkest of Days
Fallen Earth: Welcome to Apocalypse
Mini Ninjas
Trine (non-Steam version)
War Leaders: Clash of Nations

Well, if you're a Beatles fan, I can tell what you're all getting. Everybody else will flock to either Dirt 2 for some racing excitement or Darkest of Days for some crazy time-traveling shooting action. I however won't be getting anything, as I'm too busy playing Champions Online.

What are you buying this week?

All you need is Beatles, all you need is Beatles, all you need is Beatle, Beatles, yeah, Beatles is all you need.

It was twenty years ago today,
Sgt. CeeKay taught the band to play
They've been going in and out of style
But they're guaranteed to raise a smile.
So may I introduce to you
The act you've known for all these years,
Sgt. CeeKay's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
We're Sgt. CeeKay's Lonely Hearts Club Band,
We hope you will enjoy the show,
We're Sgt. CeeKay's Lonely Hearts Club Band,
Sit back and let the evening go.
Sgt. CeeKay's lonely, Sgt. CeeKay's lonely,
Sgt. CeeKay's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
It's wonderful to be here,
It's certainly a thrill.
You're such a lovely audience,
We'd like to take you home with us,
We'd love to take you home.
I don't really want to stop the show,
But I thought that you might like to know,
That the singer's going to sing a song,
And he wants you all to sing along.
So let me introduce to you
The one and only Billy Shears
And Sgt. CeeKay's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A guy with kaleidoscope eyes.
Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the guy with the sun in his eyes,
And he's gone.
CeeKay in the sky with diamonds.
Follow him down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmellow pies,
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers,
That grow so incredibly high.
Newpaper taxis appear on the shore,
Waiting to take you away.
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds,
And you're gone.
CeeKay in the sky with diamonds,
Picture yourself on a train in a station,
With plasticine porters with looking glass ties,
Suddenly someone is there at the turnstyle,
The guy with the kaleidoscope eyes.

oh... sorry.. I'm getting Rock Band Beatles.

Dirt 2!  Despite a bit of loathing at their newfound "extreme" presentation style I'm super excited for the actual racing.  Seriously, it looks like their menus were designed in 1992 with the stupid neon colors and crap.  And I could do without the XGames douchebag quotient.

Absolutely nothing. And nothing again for the rest of this month. Dirt 2 is halfway interesting but with Forza 3 in my semi-immediate future I can't justify a purchase. Same goes for the new NFS game coming out next week.

September is a month packed full of Gamefly rentals for me.

Play by yourself or use DS Download Play to host as many as seven friends.

I'm interested in Contra.  It's supposed to be decent, but I've heard rumblings that it's old-school hard.  After the ass-spank that was Super Star Wars, I haven't picked up the others in that series.

For me this week will be

360:
Darkest of Days - waiting for revs/imps.  Love the concept, but I have a hunch it'll be weak.
Dirt 2 - I loved DiRT and GRiD
Mini Ninjas - My memories of the demo have grown fonder with time, so I may pick this up
The Beatles: Rock Band - the only full IN on the list
IL 2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey - wanted it last week

I agree with some that there is nothing this whole month worth buying, but several worth renting and moving on.   Rental month for me.  Now next month, that is a different story.

I had said for months that I was going to get Rock Band: Beatles on day one, but now that the release date is here, I think I'm going to pass. I'm still trying to finish up Batman this week and NHL 10 comes out next week so there isn't much time to squeeze this one in. I'll probably wait a couple of months and grab it on sale or used. I'm also still having trouble justifying full price for a 45 song game, many of them three minutes or less. If they had released it three weeks earlier it probably would have been a different story.

So, nothing for me this week. But Christmas comes early with NHL 10 next week!

Same here. (My RB2 play has been waning lately anyway). In fact, at one point I was going to be in on day one for Beatles, Dirt 2, MUA2, among others. Now I'm not so sure about any of them, at least as day one purchases. MUA2 is still a maybe, Dirt 2 is out (the demo turned me off), Beatles is out for now,

Loving Batman, and enjoying Force Unleashed as well. Along with my XBLA stuff, that'll do for a while.

Ceekay, I just want you to know I read the second half of your post entirely in William Shatner's voice.  There is a smile on my face now.

And I had Disgaea 2 pre-ordered.

DiRT 2, although I'm afraid it won't show up in stores till Wednesday, so I'll have to fight my way through all the hordes of clowns who think there are going to be some unreserved copies of Beatles Rock Band available  icon_frown

UPDATE: IL 2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey for the DS? I though maybe someone was kidding. I hadn't heard about it. Any possible chance it won't be junk?

You honestly don't think someone will be able to get B:RB on Wed?

There have to be thousands of copies available everywhere, probably sitting in backrooms right now.

Seeing as how I already bought two more microphones, two more microphone stands, and (finally) a third cymbal for my Ion kit....I think I might buy Beatles:RB.

Gonna have "the band" over for the evening, and will likely cook up some British themed dinner for everyone.

Best Buy had zero copies on the shelf so I had to convince a blue shirt to go check the storage room.  Sure enough, a whole box of them sat unopened.
