Look at that - it's Monday again. I guess it's time for another weekly release:
PS2: Yakuza NASCAR 07 Spyhunter: Nowhere To Run Backyard Baseball 2007
PSP: LocoRoco Guilty Gear Judgment NASCAR 07
Xbox: Spyhunter: Nowhere To Run NASCAR 07
360: Scramble (Live Arcade) Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged Volume 1 (Geometry Wars) Test Drive Unlimited
Cube:
DS:
GBA:
PC: D.I.R.T. Origin Of The Species Perimeter: Emperor's Testament The Secret Files: Tunguska Silent Heroes 3 Great Games for Girls
That's amazing - not a single game due out this week for a Nintendo console. Anyway, as for me, while Yakuza sounds to be a very good game, I'm a tad busy at the moment playing other titles to pick it up right now. What are you all going to get though?

Nothing! I bought 3 360 games last week (Dead Rising, Saints Row, Enchanted Arms), so my gaming budget is empty right now. The only think I am interested in is Test Drive anyway, but I won't buy another racing game until I see MS steering wheel.

Yakuza beckons me, it really does...
But I just remind myself that it's somewhat similar-ish to Shenmue and all my desires go away.
Maybe when it's $20. Nothing this week. Thank goodness. My gaming plate is full and then some.

September, as we know, has far too many games released for its own good. I still haven't bought Enchanted Arms or Saints Row from last month and as much as I want Loco Roco, I can't buy it because I need to save up for all the good DS games coming out this month. So, sadly, nothing for me.

Very much looking forward to Yakuza, however I'm not going to get it until I beat Xenosaga 3 so it might be next week until I actually purchase.

"Have you seen any sailors?" Of course, I loved Shenmue, so a game that's like it is a great buy. But not this week.

But I just remind myself that it's somewhat similar-ish to Shenmue and all my desires go away. Really? I'm going to have to give it another look, then. Shenmue was great. But, like FFXII, I'll wait till it's a Greatest Hit.

Would like to get Yakuza but it got pretty panned in Game Informer. Gonna wait for more reviews. Maybe a rental.

looks like i'll be picking up Enchanted Arms a week late. i wasn't planning on buying it at all but gave it a rental over the weekend and have gotten hooked in a big way...great game that i'll gladly pay the money to finish. it will actually be the first 360 game i've bought since Oblivion...

Nothing, unless the reviews for Test Drive Unlimited are positive. The demo (both of them) left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. I did not enjoy the game at all. I'm a huge racing game fan, add in customizable content and it's a dream world, but the core gameplay must be great.

Nothing for me. The only game in September for me is Lego Star Wars II (well, possibly NHL 07). But working on the achievements for Dead Rising and Saints Row and my dynasty in NCAA 07 should keep me busy.

Er, do you know something that I don't? Yakuza has been getting pretty good scores with the only really low one being Game Informer which is hardly a definitive source to me. The only issues I"ve heard with Yakuza is excessive loading times, which I'm hoping can be defeated via HD Loader, and that the combat system takes a while to really demonstrate it's full potential.

Working on Gun right now so I'm good for the week. Not a bad game, actually, though it's nowhere near a classic. But I'm entertained, love the music, and it appears short even when factoring in all the side missions so that's one more to add to my completion list.

Dude, you put that much stock in Game Informer reviews? They admitted to giving Paper Mario 2 a 6 or whatever because they thought their target audience would perceive it as being too kiddy. Their chief criticism against Yakuza was awful voice acting and most of the other reviews (including Gamespot's) say the voice acting is fine. The Gamespot review read just fine, I thought, and Kasavin is the only person I've seen complain about the story- indeed most think the story is pretty great. Plus, Enchanted Arms, which you seem to enjoying, scored worse on Gamespot (and Game Rankings overall). Yakuza's still averaging 81% on Game Rankings. It's fine if it's not your thing or whatever but "garbage"? C'mon.

Hm, I dunno. Shenmue was a sweaty taint of a game. If Yakuza really is Shenmue 2.5, I wouldn't hesitate to agree it's garbage.

I haven't played Shenmue (or it's sequel) but what I've read of it is that it's basically the cool parts of Shenmue (ie lots of fighting with an improved combat system, detailed simulation of one specific location) without the busywork (driving a forklift, looking for sailors, or whatever).

Gamespot review makes me say "f no" also.
Sounds like it got 2 points for graphics, 5 points for being about Yakuza, and .4 for gameplay.

I was in EB the other day trading in some junk games and the guy behind the counter was trying to get me to get a year's subscription to Game Informer. I scoffed mightily in his direction.
