What's in your wallet! Or more accurately - how much is coming out of your wallet this week?

PS2:
Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories
Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra
Pro Stroke Golf: World Tour 2007
One Piece Grand Adventure
Dance Factory

PSP:
Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover
Ultimate Ghosts 'N Goblins
50 Cent: Bulletproof

Xbox:
Pro Stroke Golf: World Tour 2007

360:
Enchanted Arms
Saint's Row
Time Pilot (Live Arcade)
Bomberman: Act Zero

Cube:
One Piece Grand Adventure

GBA:
Shrek 2/Madagascar Operation Penguin Bundle
Harlem Globetrotters World Tour
Uno/Skip-Bo

DS:
Star Fox Command

PC:
The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff
Birth of America

As for me, most definitely Star Fox Command (FINALLY - a pure shooter like the N64 version was) and Enchanted Arms, with a good chance of getting Time Pilot. There's a lot of stuff here though - 2 RPGs, a turn based strategy title, a GTA clone (and what looks to be a good one), a shooter, yet another Sims addon, and some other crap that I'd never even consider buying.

Just Xenosaga 3 for now.  I'm going to pass on Disgaea 2 for now, at the risk of it becoming absurdly rare later, since I don't want to put in the 100+ hour time it requires in the near future.  I'll probably pick it up once we get through the holiday season.

I'll get Enchanted Arms once it drops to twenty bucks and probably Starfox at a later date as well.  Didn't care for the Saint's Row demo at all, so definite pass on that one.

Disgaea 2 + guide for me for sure, unless I read reviews before it's in stores that pan it for something other than being similar to Disgaea.  (And don't worry about it going rare, Kevin, it's published by NIS, not Atlus.)

Even though I haven't bought a 360 yet, I'm tempted to buy Saint's Row to play on my brother's 360.  I played the demo last night and was impressed, despite some graphical weirdness (things seemed to "skip" occasionally like I needed to turn VSync on in a PC game, the tree shadows sucked and were mega-ugly).  The game really is GTA done right, even if it comes at the cost of some of GTA's charm.

Starfox has been getting mediocre reviews, I'll pass.

As much as I like the new emerging subgenre of gay-friendly RPGs, I'll have to pass on Enchanted Arms til it's cheap or it turns around and starts getting great reviews/impressions.

You should be safe- it's generally been scoring in the 8.0's so far and the "too similar" point seems to be the only real negative and that's obviously actually a positive to many people.

Well, here is what I know for sure: Enchanted Arms I am renting asap.

Saint's Row is a real toughie. I was prepared to just rent it this week, but the extremely good early reviews are really making me consider changing my mind. Maybe I can find some stuff to trade in.

The real killer for me is that there are so many titles in September I want to buy.

And as a FYI, if you have a Fry's Electronics near you, they're advertising Star Fox Command for $29.99 (available Tuesday by noon) and Saints Row for $54.99 (available Tomorrow).

Enchanted Arms (depending on reviews)
Saint's Row (probably next week if I have any money left after this weekend)
Time Pilot (Depending on point cost)

Saint's Row for sure.  I'm still debating Enchanted Arms.  Think i'll wait for some reviews.

Throw in the release of Arrested Development Season 3 and South Park Season 8 dvd sets, and i'm gonna be eatin' ramen noodles for most of september.   icon_wink

Nintendo Power's 9.5 definitely does not count, which puts the "real" average in the mid 70s.

On the typical 7-9 scale, that's crap.

Enchanted Arms, probably Time Pilot.  A friend is picking up Disgaea 2, so I don't have to do so.  Of course I'll have to wait a few weeks to actually play it.

Very slim chance I'll pick up saints row.  Depends on what hear from you guys for the most part.

I hadn't paid any attention at all to the development of Saints Row until about a week ago when GameSpot announced that it would be conducting one of its live eight-hour marathons with the game.  I tuned in for some of the event this past Saturday, and aside from some occasionally wonky physics that would cause rammed cars to go flying into the air like helium baloons, the vast majority of the game looked excellent.

I don't think I'll be picking it up any time soon, but I thought I'd mention that the final product looks smoother, more polished, and even more fun than the demo version was.

I'll most likely 'half' Saint's Row with my brother.

I was riding the Enchanted Arms bandwagon, but I think I might hold off.  There are just so many other games coming out in the next couple of months that I'm not quite sure if I want to spend $60 for a mediocore RPG.  Sure, I've done that in the past, but I would think I would learn from those mistakes   Tongue

Xenosaga III I THINK I might pick up.  Beat the first, loved it, beat the second, despised it, but I like the story, characters, and feel like playing the third seeing as how I've heard generally positive impressions of the import.

That is all!

Hurk. Enchant ARM [eM] was almost a guarantee until I saw that guy-shaped-woman with the penis.  saywhat
"I's jussssst tooooo strooooonnnngggg!!"  eek

Saints Row would be a maybe if I were starving for games to play. I've never been a GTA gamestyle fan; they just get old quick. I played GTA, Vice City, Spiderman, Hulk:UD etc and I never get more than half-way through.

Why hullo Disgaea 2. How are you doing today. I do believe you have an appointment in my PS2 this week.

I'll wait for Enchant ARM to drop in the $30 before I pick it up. On that same note, I'll wait for Xenosaga 3 to drop to $20 'fore I get that, if it doesn't stink to high heaven, that is.

Want:
Disgaea 2
Starfox Command
Xenosaga III (I've played the first two...might as well ride this one out to the end.  I mean...it can't get anymore confusing that II did...right?)

Actually Buy?   Not completely sure yet.

Wow, I had no idea this many people would be into Saint's Row.  Looked rather silly to me, but I'm one of the three people that didn't like GTA either.

I'm sort of interested in Disgaea 2 & Xenosaga 3, but will probably have to wait a couple weeks until I have any cash.

Disgaea 2, tomorrow if any stores have it. icon_biggrin I will sucker punch a granny if she's holding onto the last copy in a store.

A week ago, I realized I never finished Xenosaga, so I put the time in and finished it. I will probably pick up Xenosaga 2 at some point, so I can play x3.  I can put up with mediocre gameplay if it has a decent massive story, which Xenosaga had.  The early reviews of X3 sound good with the story being a major selling point, but hearing about censorship in one of the reviews was definately not a good sign.

Holy shit this thread sure did take off fast..

I'm thinking of Saints Row (360) and Def Jam (PSP) - anyone know if Def Jam brings the team battle (2vs2) mode from the console versions? All the screen shots show 1vs1, and IGN's review didn't say a thing about a teamplay mode.. but in the console you could add 3 computer-controlled players for 2vs2.
Anyone know if it's in?

Anyone going to give some impressions on the "homies" feature of Saints Row? That'd definitely be a selling point for me, as I'm without Live.

On the typical 7-9 scale, that's crap.

And considering that the last two titles were tripe and had little to do with what the series is best known for (an on-rail shooter), I'll take it despite the 'average' reviews.

Granted on NP, and I know there's been talk of inflation in scores, but Game Brink a site I'm starting to respect, gave it 82% and said
Quote
Pros

    * Good 3D visuals, plenty of enemy variety and different environments.
    * Fast paced shooting action, timer keeps you killing fast.
    * Non-linear story with different routes, levels and endings.
    * Stages can be selectively replayed to beat score records.
    * Stylus only control system works well for accuracy and speed.

Cons

    * Single player doesnt take long to finish if you dont decide to replay the different routes.
    * Enemies can be very easy to beat including the bosses.

Also, if you discount the reviews, then how can you reference 'average reviews,' it just doesn't make sense...wait a minute.  Who am I arguing with here?  [looks up name] Ah, LE.  So, this is futile, then.  Nevermind.

Oh dip, burn.

Seriously though, with all the good stuff coming out from here to December, my rationale is not to waste money on sub-80s.  Plus, as Destructor alluded to, the previous two StarFox games sucked.  I used to swear by StarFox64, but the Gamecube crap dropped my appreciation for the series back into neutral.

Disgaea 2 is a sure-fire winner if you liked -any- of NIS America's titles.

Quick review:  It's Disgaea.  More of the same.  Less of the sucky bits.  Some of the cool stuff comes into the game earlier (Dark Assembly, et al).  Multiple endings, at least 4 character crossovers from the first game and presumably a lot of other NIS characters here and there.  Oh, and quite a few hidden and secret levels.  40-100+ play time, and the only bitch I've had about the game thus far is that it's a pain in the ASS to get Mr. Gency's Exit for Item World trolling.  Then again, that may clear up later in the game.  I just wanted to spend some time there early on biggrin

Quite a few new features, including chests (mostly in item world) and secret rooms in item worlds which allow for all kinds of interesting wackiness.  Oh...and the use of cell phones in the game is now allows. biggrin

Seriously.  BUY IT.  We should have the review up in a couple of days.
