Let's look at what's due out this week:

PS2:

PS3:
Beijing 2008 - The official Video Game of the Olympic Games
Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution

PSP:

360:
Beijing 2008 - The official Video Game of the Olympic Games
Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution
Unreal Tournament 3
Golf: Tee it Up (XBLA)
Schizoid (XBLA)

Wii:
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon
King of the Monsters (VC)

DS:
Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution

PC:
Devil May Cry 4
Nancy Drew: The Phantom of Venice

I know that a lot of you out there have been looking forward to Civilization, so I expect to see plenty of posts stating that you're buying it. Especially since there's little else grabbing (short of UT3).

What are you buying this week?

I'm interested in Civ Revolutions, but will probably wait a few weeks until I've wrapped up FFTA2.

still awaiting impressions on trauma center 2 from last week. Curious about Civ, but I expect impressions here for that one pretty fast.

Game Informer had a glowing review of Civ so I'll most likely pick that one up on the 360.  I needs me a strategy fix on a console, dagnabit!

 icon_biggrin

note:  IGN gave it 8.8 out of 10.  Looking at gamerankings.com it seems the average is in the 80 percent range.  Sounds like it's a winner so far!

360:
Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution
Unreal Tournament 3

Wii:
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeon

I wasn't going to get Civ, 'cause it's one of those games that I know I'll never play more than once or twice, and I may still wait until it comes down in price.

Rock Band DLC: two Red Hot Chili Peppers songs and two Rush masters.

Passing on CivRev because Beyond the Sword PC is more than satisfying in that department, and it was only $19. For me, playing on a console vs my PC means swinging my chair around 180 degrees, so I'm pretty much indifferent to which one I play on.

And the VC game of the week:

Quote
King of the Monsters (NEO-GEO): Released by SNK in 1991, King of the Monsters is an action/fighting game that features city-destroying battles between huge monsters. Choose one of six monsters and travel around Japan, stopping to fight in various famous cities with the aim of becoming the ultimate winner. In addition to punches, kicks and other regular moves, each character has the ability to use more devastating maneuvers, like throwing flames and shooting laser beams, to defeat opponents.

Wrestling elements are also incorporated, as you must completely exhaust your opponent and get a three-count to pin him and be victorious. Along with the player-versus-computer game, multiplayer options allow you and a friend to enjoy one-on-one matches and two-on-two tag-team matches against the computer. Take on the challenge and claim the title of King of the Monsters.

Both of these could be good.  The golf game looks nice, at least.

I have not bought a game at/around release since Mario Kart Wii, but I want Civ Rev bad, I'll get the PS3 version. I may even trade some stuff in for Chocobo Dungeon because I've read that its a fairly player friendly rogue-like without holding your hand like the Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon games.

All I can say about this week is, freakin hell is that list correct, not a single PSP or PS2 release?!
Can't say I'll be buying anything this week but CivRev and Chocoba Dungeon are definitely on my radar. I also like what's described in that blurb about Schizoid; definitely a possible download.
