If I didn't know better, I'd say that the early-year doldrums are completely over. There's so many games that look interesting each and every week. Let's take a look:

PS2:

PS3:
50 Cent: Blood on the Sand
Eat Lead: Return of Matt Hazard
Killzone 2
Shellshock 2: Blood Trails

PSP:

360:
50 Cent: Blood on the Sand
Eat Lead: Return of Matt Hazard
Shellshock 2: Blood Trails
Star Ocean: The Last Hope
Stoked
Exit 2 (XBLA)

Wii:
Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop
The Last Ninja (VC)
International Karate (VC)
Pitstop II (VC)
Onslaught (WiiWare)

DS:
Blue Dragon Plus
Legacy of Ys: Books I and II
Peggle: Dual Shot
Puzzle Quest Galactrix

PC:
Armed Forces Corp/ Terrorist Takedown 2
Penumbra Collection
Shellshock 2: Blood Trails
Tom Clancy's End War

To grab Star Ocean or not to grab - stupid Street Fighter and me playing way too much of it. I just know that everyone needs to avoid Shellshock 2 no matter their choices.

What are you buying this week?

Can't manage to get myself interested in Killzone.  Star Ocean looks good, but I'm holding off until I've made a bigger dent in my RPG completion quest.  Eat Lead looks interesting, but I'll probably be waiting for a sale.

Galactrix will likely be gotten soon, but I don't know on which platform yet.

Oh dear.

Killzone 2 will be purchased, but I'm waiting for a 25.00 Gamestop card to get here so whether it's this week remains to be seen.

I really want to play 50 cent believe it or not as the premise is deliciously ridiculous.  smirk But I'll probably just rent it.

Eat Lead looks interesting, but will most likely be a rental.

Puzzle Quest Galactrix is probably going to be a purchase, but I'm not sure I'm ready to get back into handhelds as I'm enjoying books right now...

Buying either Galactrix or last week's Dragon Quest, and having a damn hard time deciding which.

Eat Lead and Stoked both have my interest. Unlikely I will buy Eat Lead but the videos on gametrailers certainly have me curious. Possible I will buy Stoked. Waiting for early suckers err impressions though.

I want Galactrix, but haven't decided on a platform yet.  Interested in Eat Lead, but will likely wait for a) reviews and b) a price drop.   It looks amusing from what I've seen, but maybe they just put all the funny bits in the previews.

Preordered on Killzone. I think a co-op run of 50 Cent would be really fun, but I have too much backlog now. It wouldn't hurt for wait for it to drop in price either.

if it got bumped, that would make the decision between ds and xbla easier.

just wish it wasn't so damned expensive on the ds compared to it.  portability vs big screen.

if i end up getting as addicted to it as i did pq, then the ds would be better.  i played that one all the way through without changing games.

killzone is a rental, as is eat lead, but not for a while i think.

I have Killzone 2 in my Gamefly queue, and Eat Lead will get added there too after KZ2 ships, but as it stands no actual money will be spent on either of those games this week.

Wiiware:

Onslaught - Alien bug FPS from Hudson, very-well received already  If I had room, I'd get it.

VC:

The Last Ninja [C-64]
International Karate [C-64]
Pitstop II [C-64]

So, I guess the Commodore 64 games have started.

PS3:
Killzone 2 - IN

360:
50 Cent: Blood on the Sand - I've heard this is dumb fun, but it's bargain bin at best for me
Eat Lead: Return of Matt Hazard - IN for now, hoping to see revs/imps first.  Also, Best Buy has it coming next week
Stoked - Early reviews weren't great, but were they too early?  I hope to see some positive stuff, but I'll probably be OUT

Wii:
Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop - I'm interested, as I never finished the 360 one, despite many attempts, but my hunch is I'll pass

DS:
Peggle: Dual Shot - Peggle is easily the best casual game since the original Bejewelled, but how many versions do I need?

PC:
Penumbra Collection - IN

They used to advertise a Mac version in the works but then they pulled the Mac logo from their advertisements.  Can't you use bootcamp or whatever it's called, though?  The system requirements for the game have got to be pretty low.

I think you got the download services wrong Bullwinkle; Last Ninja, Intl Karate and Pitstop are VC games and Onslaught is the Wiiware game. slywink
I have some fond memories of Intl Karate and The Last Ninja C-64 games. I would say that Intl Karate doesn't hold a stick to the better fighting games on the SNES or Genesis. The Last Ninja on the other hand was an excellent game; in fact one of the best I can remember from the C-64. The fact that it's only $5 makes it a definite download for me this week. That's about all for my purchases this week.

Finally Star Ocean 4. It's been at least 2 weeks since I played an RPG!

PQ Galactrix too. Not sure what system. Leaning towards 360 though. There's a lot of games for DS coming that I don't wanna bother switching all the time.

edit: Well fuck. Now shacknews is reporting PQ isn't coming to XBLA this week after all.

Pitstop 2? PITSTOP 2~! Oh man, that will definitely get downloaded at some point. I loved that game to DEATH back in the game.

I'm interested in Dead Rising for the Wii, but will probably wait for reviews, impressions, and a price drop.

why the hell isnt this coming out here too?  from your description it sounds like youre importing it?  this sounds awesome on so many levels and i love these types of games (and aside from 2 worlds which is only kinda like this, and sacred there are WAY too few of these games in this gen! (no i dont count the superhero ones - while fun they are lacking what some of the fantasy games have))

it may. but, for whatever reason, even the japanese & chinese versions've had pretty limited releases (tho it sold out in japan almost instantly). were it not for the chi/eng version, i'd've held off & hoped, but having seen how well done the chi/eng version of hakuna matata is, i figured go for it...

check out some of the stuff on youtube - it looks pretty damn nice (& i've seen a couple very cool bosses smile )...

Same here, both for the DS. Even though I completely beat Peggle on the PC, I think I will complete it again on the DS. Darn PopCap.
