Random scary tidbit of the morning - according to Gamestop, there are exactly NINE titles/items in their ENTIRE 'coming soon' database list for the PSP. The DS has 80.
PS2:
PS3:
PSP:
360: NPPL Championship Paintball 2009 Sonic Unleashed
Banjo Kazooie (XBLA) Street Fighter II: HD Remix (XBLA)
Wii: AMF Bowling Wold Lanes Cake mania: In the mix! Championship Foosball Chrysler Classic Racing Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine SafeCracker: The Ultimate Puzzle Adventure Skate City Heroes Ski and Shoot The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga Winter Sports 2: The Next Challenge Boogerman (VC) Sudoku Challenge (WiiWare) WiiWare: Boingz (WiiWare)
DS: Age of Empires: Mythologies All Star Cheer Leader Chrono Trigger Chrysler Classic Racing Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force Cradle of Rome Emma in the Mountains Imagine Gymnast Neopets Puzzle Adventure Peronal Trainer: Cooking Syberia
PC: Band Manager Bolt Call of Atlantis Chronicles of Mystery: The Scopio Ritual Puzzlegeddon The Chronicles of Spellborn
Well, it's official - with the lack of anything Sony related coming out this week, I declare the bullcrap flood of holiday releases OVER. However, this does NOT give you the right to ignore Chrono Trigger for the DS, which is the only game I'm grabbing.
What are you buying this week?

I think it'll just be Chrono Trigger and the unwieldily initialled SF2HDR.

Possibly Chronotrigger at some point. I came oh so close to finishing it on the PS2 last year but I think I had a combo of skills that prevented me from being able to finish the game...

I'm torn between Chrono Trigger and Age of Empires:Mythologies. I've been replaying the original AoE and its a lot of fun, so I'm tempted by the latter... Can't afford to do both, my wife will kill me.... Maybe Santa will help..

Maybe Street Fighter HD on XBLA. Can anybody tell me how it is different (other than prettier graphics) than the Street Fighter XBLA game from a few years back?

BANJO-KAZOOIE! Been waiting for this one since they announced it! Chrono Trigger will be on my list, but just can't pick it up at launch. This season already exceeded my gaming budget, so I'll have titles I want to pick up clear into next summer. Age of Empires Mythologies on the DS is going on my Gamefly queue.

OMGZ $ony iz ded!!!! I'm not planning on picking up anything, but I'm been debating grabbing Rock Band 2 for the PS3 for our annual Thanksgiving get together. I'm really on the fence though, as if I get it for the PS3 I'll have alot more HD space for songs and be able to easily take it to the place where we usually have our parties, but I know alot more people who have it for the 360 so I'll be able to play more in between our increasingly infrequent get togethers, but I'll have to get a bigger HD. oh, and I'd have to buy a new PS3 controller unless one can navigate the menus using the instruments.

VC this week: Boogerman [Sega Mega Drive].
On WiiWare: Boingz and the inevitable Sudoku Challenge.
Boogerman sounds like an interesting if not bizarre game, it's not available on gametap and no one I know ever played it. I found this excerpt from the review at vc-reviews quite interesting: That's not all of the weapons though - There's a number of items which will enhance your existing weapons in a few ways. If you pick up red peppers, your burps and farts will be lit on fire, doing extra damage to whatever they hit. Picking up a bottle of milk will allow Boogerman to spit loogies instead of throwing boogers, which, much like the flaming burps/farts, causes extra damage. OK then...obviously a toilet humor game. They scored it 4 out of 5 so it does sound decent. Chrono Trigger is a possible purchase for me, but I still haven't played FFIV or the more recent DQ for the DS . Otherwise nothing for me.

No Sony releases, at all? That is bizarre.
As is the PSP vs. DS Gamestop comparison. 9 vs. 80? Holy shit.

From what I've heard, the game has been tweaked just a little bit, and the controls are a bit more forgiving (because the d-pad SUCKS on the 360 and you're practically forced to use the analog stick). Oh, and the game looks a ton better than it used to. There's supposed to be an option to play the game in its low-resolution glory though if you want to. No Sony releases, at all? That is bizarre.

I double-checked and made sure about the no Sony thing. And yeah, the PSP vs DS stuff is just insane. I knew that devs have all but abandoned the console, but...wow.

Is Syberia on that list the same adventure game that was on the PC? That was a pretty damn cool game, but I'm not sure how well it would translate to the DS.

Ah, that's good to hear...was wondering about that myself. I have no desire to play a fighter on the 360 that requires or even favours the craptastic d-pad. If this game makes it effectively playable with the stick then I'm very interested as I'm a big fan of the series.

I'm still waiting on my copy of The Last Remnant from Amazon. I'm hoping to get it tomorrow. Is Syberia on that list the same adventure game that was on the PC? That was a pretty damn cool game, but I'm not sure how well it would translate to the DS.
Yes, it's the same game, or at least a DS-ified version of it. Also, Banjo Kazooie for XBLA has been delayed until December 3. Apparently, some people didn't get their Nuts & Bolts preorder codes to get the game early, so they pushed back the release date for non-preorders.
