Some random thoughts about the games coming out this week:

Will the latest Sonic title break the suckage of prior non GBA/DS games? Will the Paintball game be better than Extreme PaintBrawl? Do people still buy the Dynasty Warriors games? Will anybody buy the Castlevania fighting game? Who will win in a fight - the Lord of the Rings expansion or the Everquest II one? Will Tecmo Bowl rock on the DS as much as the NES version did? Will a Teen rated Mortal Kombat game sell? Will the Wii and DS ever stop getting so much shovelware each and every week?

This and more may be answered if you tune in this week, to our Weekly Release List.

On a more serious note - I'll be picking up the EQ2 expansion and little more. It's getting too close to Christmas for me to grab much else.

What are you buying this week?

Left 4 Dead is a definite, Tomb Raider underworld will be an eventual after I finish Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2, NWN2 and Gothic 3 expansion depending on reviews, Alone in the Dark for the PC if they deliver like they promise with the patch, and possibly RB2 for the PS3 for the annual Thanksgiving get together me and my friend have every year.

I preordered The Last Remnant at Amazon.com when they had the $40 deal, but it probably won't arrive until next week.  Also, this week's XBLA game is supposed to be A Kingdom For Keflings.

Woah, had no idea Luminous Arc 2 was this week.  Will probably check that one out.

Thought about picking up Tomb Raider, but after playing the demo, I think I need to wait until some of the FAQ's hit before giving it a shot.  Puzzle-ish games tend to frustrate the hell out of me unless there's a way I can find a solution quickly when I get stuck.

PS3:
Alone in the Dark: Inferno - waiting for reviews, but if it really is an improved version, I'll probably get it someday

360:
Left 4 Dead - waiting for reviews, but it seems like the only fun is with multi-co-op, so most likely OUT
Lips - OUT until they get the mics working with Rock Band, then probably IN
Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe - maybe, but it seems to be more of a rental
Naruto: The Broken Bond - loved the first one, but never finished.  May get this next year
Need for Speed Undercover - waiting for reviews, but probably not
Sonic Unleashed - see above
The Last Remnant - Very interested, but will wait for next year when it's cheaper, and I have time
Tomb Raider Underworld - IN

Wii:
Mortimer Beckett and the Secrets of Spooky Manor - I like this style of game, for some reason, so IN if reviews are decent - the PC version did okay
Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party - OUT unless I hear good things
Skate It - IN, unless I hear it's bad.
Shaun White Snowboarding - IN at Target, probably

This week

VC:
Space Invaders: The Original Game (SNES)
Forgotten Worlds (Sega Mega Drive)

Wiiware:
Target Toss Pro Bags
Strong Bad Episode 4 - Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective

If I ever finish SB Ep 2, I may get to SB3&4, but I'm betting I'll be behind for a while.

I'm thinking nothing for now.  I want Shaun White Snowboarding and LOTRO:Mines of Moria, but I will have to wait until after the holidays.

Oh, but I already bought the full seasons of Strong Bad for PC, so I can count that new episode I guess.

I'm definitely in for NWN2: Storm of Zehir and Rune Factory 2.

If SoulChilde gets Left 4 Dead for the PC, then I'll probably get that too.

I'll also be watching for reviews of Need for Speed: Undercover.  If it's less like Carbon and more like Most Wanted, I'm very likely to get that sometime soon.

Oh, and just a quick word of warning: Legendary seemed fairly promising through its development, but it's been roundly panned in every review I've seen.

Probably nothing still playing tons of MP World at War for now, and if I take a break from that have about 10 other games I can play.

Despite that, tempted by Naruto and The Last Remnant.

This week VC games are Forgotten Worlds [Genesis] and Space Invaders: The Original Game [SNES]. For anyone who played the original Forgotten Worlds in the arcade, be forwarned that this is a straight port of the Genesis game. Unlike the game in the PS2 and Xbox Capcom collections, this is not a port of the arcade version which apparently supported stick control for shooting. It's a shame they chose not to support the stick on the Wii classic controller and kept to the Genesis 2 button adaptation. It's one of the few game that isn't on gametap and I personally was interested in it as it featured 2 player co-op and looked impressive, but I'll get it when I finally track down a copy of Capcom Collection for PS2. As for Space Invaders, my classic gaming buddies warned me to avoid this at all cost, apparently very inferior to the original arcade game.

This weeks Wiiware games are Target Toss Pro Bags and Strong Bad Episode 4.

For this week Tomb Raider Underworld and Castlevania Judgement will be rentals. I'm still on the fence about Left 4 Dead [360] as it's my understanding that the co-op is online only; not even system-link.

Too many games to even try to keep up, so I'll continue playing Fallout 3 for now.  In my tradition of playing a 50 hour game in 400, I'd say I'm probably good for another two weeks.   Roll Eyes

Finally I can say "nothing" with confidence.  I've got enough to keep me occupied into 2011 and there aren't any notable releases I can't seem to live without.  Far Cry 2 and Fable 2 are on my Christmas list, I already have Fallout 3, Force Unleashed, COD5, and Gears 2, plus my usual backlog with Bioshock, GTA IV, etc, so I have to say that this week's lackluster options (yes, I even consider Left4Dead a lackluster game) are a welcomed break.

Completely, totally, and utterly. It's really sad, as as far as I'm concerned, it's a FANTASTIC game. It's by far my favorite MMO out of all of them. And yes, I've pretty much tried them all (short of all the Korean MMOs anyway).

Definite purchases:

Tomb Raider: Underworld
The Last Remnant

Wait for reviews:
Need for Speed: Undercover
Alone in the Dark: Inferno

NfS will probably have to have rave reviews for me to consider it. I'm more interested in Alone in the Dark: Inferno as it supposedly fixed a lot of the problems that plagued the 360 version.

Still playing Fallout 3 and need to finish up Dead Space so I'll pass this week and pick up Tomb Raider later if reviews are good.  Left 4 Dead is a maybe.

I'm torn. I'm heading to best buy today so I'll be getting something, I just don't know what. I'm debating between Fallout 3, Left4Dead, Mirror's Edge, and End War. I know I want Fallout 3, but I'm planning on picking that up after christmas sometime. That's the type of game that will completely suck me in, but I'm enjoying COD5 and want to keep playing that while there is still a consistent group of people to join. Left4Dead looks interesting, but as mentioned only with co-op or online. Mirror's Edge and End War had fun demo's, but I can see them being gimmicky and not worth $60.
