I think I'll just buy Crysis and Assassin's Creed for now and grab the rest at a later date. You know, sometime next year when the flood comes to an end.
What are you buying this week?

And the VC titles: Volleyball (NESฎ, 1-2 players, rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Step onto the court in one of the first volleyball games ever made. Select either the men's or women's competition, choose from one of eight available countries to represent, and prepare for some intensely fun game play. The straightforward controls include all the moves you'll need to effectively direct your six-person team. Take some time mastering them in the training mode, though, because you'll need all the practice you can get when competing against challenging computer opponents. If you feel like some multiplayer action, take on a friend in the two-player mode and see whose skills are more polished. Block, set and spike your way to victory.
AXELAYฎ (Super NESฎ, 1 player, rated E for Everyone Mild Fantasy Violence, 800 Wii Points): Mysterious aliens have invaded the Earth-like planet of Corliss, slowly draining the planet's resources. Take control of the prototype Axelay ship and use its wide range of advanced weaponry to battle enemy forces. Play through multiple stages of action from other planets to space stations all on your way to destroying the alien headquarters. You are Corliss' last line of defense, so be careful not to be too distracted by the excellent graphics (including great scrolling effects) and rocking music. Pilot the Axelay using Konami's famously tight play control and experience what many consider to be a classic of the shooter genre.
BLUE'S JOURNEY (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, rated E for Everyone Comic Mischief, 900 Wii Points): The planet of Raguy has been invaded by the Daruma tribe, changing it from a beautiful and peaceful place into one filled with pollution. Released in 1991, this horizontally scrolling action game tells the story of an insectarian named Blue and his quest to save the planet and keep its inhabitants from being turned into slaves. Use Blue's main weapon, a leaf, to flip enemies onto their heads and then throw them at other members of the Daruma tribe, defeating anyone in your way. Additional weapons, such as bombs and boomerangs, are also available, or you can collect flowers to purchase other special items like honey or swim fins. Blue also has the special ability to change his size at will if he's too big to fit in a particular area, then shrink him. The bright, colorful graphics, combined with lots of hidden items to find, ensure an enjoyable experience with plenty of replay value. Help Blue muster all his strength and eliminate the Daruma tribe.

Perhaps Assassins Creed...nothing otherwise. I've already blown my gaming budget for the month....but too many positive reviews are destroying my willpower.

Nothing for me this week. I'm up to my neck in games that I don't have time to play right now.
I'll probably rent Assasin's Creed on the 360 at some point to check it out. As always no multiplayer equals no purchase for me.

Oh boy...it starts. This is going to be a tough week.
Definitely getting Assassin's Creed Collector's Edition and WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 08 for the 360. Definitely getting Super Mario Galaxy and probably getting Need For Speed Pro Street (360). If Uncharted is really shipping this week, I'll pick it up too.
What's sad is I'm going to have to pass on Kane & Lynch and Soldier of Fortune Payback, two games that I am very interested in.

Probably rent AC. I just have this feeling it's not going to be any good, but the gushing anticipatory praise by my fellow GTers has weakened that belief.
If K&L gets a passing grade maybe a rental at some time in the distant future.
Don't have a wii, but i may get SMG just for the gift card...
What's orcs and elves? Isn't that that cell phone game that got heaps of praise?

With the mighty X-mas looming, I can't really afford to buy Super Mario Galaxy OR Assassin's Creed, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I might pick up both. My wife would then kill me. Good times!

Things I am considering, depending on reviews and budget:
Assassin's Creed [360] Beowulf: The Game [360] Kane & Lynch: Dead Men [360] BlackSite: Area 51 [360]
Things I am pretty sure I will pick up:
Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command [PSP] Super Mario Galaxy [Wii] (if I can get the $25 card at Toys R Us)

Uncharted and Crysis are the definites. AssCreed may wait for a bit, cause even if I did buy it... no way I'd have the time to play it. NFS: Pro Street I'll get sometime as well.

360: (all of these when my console returns from the grave, boo hoo) Assassin's Creed BlackSite: Area 51 Kane & Lynch: Dead Men - pending reviews Soldier of Fortune: Payback - pending reviews
Wii: (I'm glad it's a heavy Wii week, given the recent death of my 360) Geometry Wars: Galaxies Medal of Honor Heroes 2 Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles Smarty Pants Super Mario Galaxy
DS: Contra 4 - probably not, unless I hear there's an easy mode Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends - if they've upped the gameplay, maybe Orcs & Elves - Yes

Assassin's Creed and Smackdown vs Raw are on my Christmas list. I think I'm done buying games for myself this year. Need for Speed was on the Christmas list until I played the demo. Crysis PC demo didn't excite me, I think I'm the only one.

PS3:Uncharted: Drake's Fortune 360:Assassin's Creed BlackSite: Area 51 - maybe? Impressions first... Kane & Lynch: Dead Men - maybe? Impressions first... Need for Speed ProStreet Wii:Super Mario Galaxy Wow...look what a long list of Wii titles. Yep, a Mario title is the only one worth buying. *sigh* Having played Umbrella Chronicles I can say, enjoy the crap implementation of the 'zapper' functions. Even the Capcom guy at E3 said they were having a far more difficult time than they anticipated getting any level of accuracy in the thing. Expect low scores folks... PC:Crysis Kane & Lynch: Dead Men - If the game is good, I have to decide whether to go 360 or PC Sim City Societies - Totally in. Soldier of Fortune: Payback - Maybe...the 'value title' kinda scares me.

Yep. I played it on my cell, and it was a blast. I'll definitely be picking it up for DS at some point. I'm going to try my best to not purchase Assassin's Creed this week. I don't want it to get lost in the Rock Band/Mass Effect crush next week, and would rather play it when I get some spare gaming time. Like, you know, around June or so...

Popcap Arcade Volume 1 I was curious about this and did a little research. $30, for 4 games. Not bad, since each of those games costs 800 points to begin with. Saves you ten bucks. However, one of these games has already been sold on another compilation disc. Bejeweled 2 is on the original XBox Live Arcade Unplugged disc. That disc I highly recommend ($20, for Bejeweled 2, Geometry Wars, and four lesser games - Wik, Fable of Souls, Outpost Kataki X, Texas Hold-em and Hardwood Backgammon). Do yourself a favor and shell out the extra $10, download the other three popcap games, and get 5 more games. As for me... nothing to purchase, but lots catches my eye Geometry Wars: Galaxies on the wii is $20 too much; Assassin's Creed looks incredible, but I'll wait for a price drop; Super Mario Galaxy is something I'd like to pick up. I'll wait til after christmas though; Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles looks fun, but I still have to finish RE4.

Assassin's Creed is supposed to be $40 via Fry's Electronics this week (according to a Steals and Deals post anyway). One reason why I'm picking it up.

I'm not sure I'll actually buy anything this week, but my eyes are definitely on Crysis, and Assassin's Creed. I think Uncharted's released next week. And speaking of next week, I anticipate it will make my wallet scream like no other.

I'd really like to try Assassin's Creed before I buy it. The BlackSite teaser was decent, but nothing fantastic, and with no big mp draw I think I can wait until next year for it.
The same goes for America's Army (loved the Xbox version, doesn't seem like many people interested in the online component for this though), Kane and Lynch (I can wait until it's dirt cheap), and Soldier of Fortune.

sigh...i'm spending WAY too much on gaming the last two months. I know, I know...a common sentiment around these parts. i'm going to hold off on assassin's creed and warhammer 40K:SC until I see some reviews. I'll probably pick up Crysis sometime this week on sale at CC.

my wife has graciously (or begrudgingly, knowing my gaming addiction) given me a "wallet's free" sign in regards to my christmas present. she has already got her present, a really expensive massaging chair, so i've got my eyes set on:
smg: TRU or not at all. getting this one for 25 is a no brainer. if they are out, then i'll wait. either way, it won't get much playtime.
crysis: release day sales make this one hard to resist, even though i've gotten to love playing the 360 more than the pc.
ac: i need to decide if those extras in the ce are now worth $30. at this point, i think i'll pick it up at best buy and price match fry's.
kane & lynch goes into the rental queue. i'll play it when i get it, but i won't be picking it up.

I've opted to stay away from Crysis as my PC is sub-par (3800+ x2 w.7600GT) ... I am considering the COD4/Assasin's Creed for $90 from BestBuy.ca though... Sad thing is, I've got DMC4 preordered, Mass Effect preordered, Orange Box on the way (from a GT seller) and I still have Viva Pinata, MUA and now I'm looking forward to getting my hands on Warriors Orochi. Damnit, I have 2 kids and a f/t girlfriend (who is awesome, btw)... I don't know what my time will be like, but I may also end up having to set up a gaming "agenda" we shall see... Mind you, I'm OK with some games sitting on the shelf for a while; I just finally got around to enjoying Oblivion and didn't feel like I somehow missed out. It's only the forum effect with MP games that sometimes makes me sad. I may end up returning/selling COD4. 6hours S/P + I have not enough spare time to build up an online gaming RPG shooter... as it is my Halo3 online time is < my desire. Edit: Gah! SMG is also on this list!!! ARGHH!!!!! That one will have to wait, I guess. Maybe someone here will tire of it and sell. (No one snapped up my offer in the TRU sale which isn't avail in Canada.

Assassin's Creed is supposed to be $40 via Fry's Electronics this week (according to a Steals and Deals post anyway). One reason why I'm picking it up.
Whoa really? They all say so in the post. It's not being offered in today's Fry's ad, but something like that wouldn't show up until Wednesday's ad anyway. I'll let you know once Wednesday rolls around.

I'll be picking up Super Mario Galaxy since EB has an offer here to trade in 3 games for it. After showing the video previews to my kids, my daughter has...sigh...finally given the green light to tradeing in Super Mario Sunshine. I'll likely buy Panzer Tactics since I have such fond memories of 1st & 2nd game on the PC and possibly Assasins Creed too if the review are favourable. *sigh* Having played Umbrella Chronicles I can say, enjoy the crap implementation of the 'zapper' functions. Even the Capcom guy at E3 said they were having a far more difficult time than they anticipated getting any level of accuracy in the thing. Expect low scores folks... Bummer to hear about that as it was 1 of the games I was really looking forward to, but I was already planning on waiting for reviews. Besides there's too many other games I want for the Wii that are already out and in place of RE:UC I may just buy Fire Emblem, Batallion Wars 2 or Zak and Wiki; depends on the reviews for AC. [Edit] Oh crap! I didn't realise Medal of Honor: Heroes was coming out for the Wii this week. I've read some really good things about the implementation of the Wii controls in this game. If it reviews well it may be the game I get in place of RE:UC.
