Smackdown goes on the wish list, there's no hurry on it since I have a stupid amount of new games to play. The big deal on this version is a co-op (tag team) story, which doesn't interest me much. I hope there's still a solo story that isn't all tag team.

Populous DS
What the-- Where the hell did that come from? If reviews are decent this may be an unexpected addition to this season's purchase list. I wasn't planning on CoD:W@W anytime soon (god I hate that acronym) but with the $15 Toys'Я'Us gift card deal I might not have the strength to resist.

They made a version of Call of Duty for the PS2? Will they ever give up on that machine?
I pre-ordered Banjo.

I pre-odered Eternal Poison from Amazon for the pre-order goodies (and being an Atlus whore) but I may pop for Call of Duty if people start gushing about how great it is.

Call of Duty World at War for the 360. Gamestop nicely has it available this afternoon, so I'm picking it up on my way home from work, although I might not get in very much time.

Nothing.
It is senseless for me to pay full price for games I have no chance of touching anytime soon.
I want: Lich King, COD5, and Mirror's Edge. But ... between studying for an upcoming certification exam, and my other games (Fallout 3, Fable 2, Dead Space, and others), there's no way I'll have time for anything new.
The good news is that waiting generally means more stable, lower priced games.

Nothing. I am so glad I got over my desire of having to buy every title that comes out that I am interested in. Fable 2 and Fallout 3 will make do for quite some time.

for me wrath of the lich king and call of duty for PS3. I will look for reviews and impressions on mirrors edge before deciding on that. this is the time of year where I buy games knowing I will never have the time to play them but I buy them anyway cause I am addicted Except for wrath of the lich king which I will play with most of my spare time so I can hit 80 fast

I'll be buying Tales of Symphonia 2 this week to in the hopes that Namco will continue to localize Tales games despite their abysmal sales in the US. I'll be picking up Mirror's Edge at some point in the future. Unfortunately, I don't have any time for games right now.

this is the time of year where I buy games knowing I will never have the time to play them but I buy them anyway cause I am addicted You can break your addiction, though. It happened to me! Seriously, though, I was the same way and sometime this year just made the realization that it doesn't have to be that way. So, I picked a few key titles that I knew were must-haves and everything else I will get to eventually, if at all.

This weeks VC release is Mega Man 3 [NES], which is another great Mega Man to add the growing collection on VC. This weeks Wiiware releases are Brain Challenge and Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam. Brain Challenge is by the same dev that made Brain Age on the DS and here's part of Wiiware-worlds blurb on Yummy Yummy Cooling Jam: Enjoy playing Yummy Yummy with your family, serving delicious food to the most surprising characters: vampires, ninjas, extraterrestrials and mafia thugs. Put on your chef’s hat, sharpen your knives and turn up the heat. All I can say is whatever illegal substance they're taking, I want some! This week could leave my wallet bleeding, Banjo Kazooie N&B is a for sure and CoD: W&W is looking good as well. I had no idea that Tales of Symphonia 2 and SW Lightsaber Duels of Populous DS were selling this week. I'll wait for reviews on them, but they're all possible purchases before year end.

Even though I know there will be a great deal of COD5 MP action going on, I just can't stomach another game purchase. I've played all of one level in Force Unleashed and then got back into Mass Effect, which has been sitting on my shelf since last Christmas. I had zero interest in Fallout 3 until I made the mistake of reading reviews and the buzz around GamingTrend and wound up picking it up on release day. I've played for about two or three hours and absolutely love the game, but then the next new hotness came out. I wasn't at all planning on picking up Gears 2 as I have enough to keep me occupied as it is, but online MP in the original Gears was one of my favorite experiences and I just couldn't skip out on the sequel, so I added Gears 2 to my backlog as well and played 6+ hours of glorious MP on Friday night.
Fable 2 has had to go on my Christmas list as I just don't have any time to play it but certainly can't pass it up completely, and Mirror's Edge will be added to my list as well. Perhaps I can also add COD5 so that while I need to focus on Gears 2 MP in order to feel like the purchase was justified, I can hold off on COD5 until after the holidays and still get to experience it without feeling like I've pissed so much money away on growing an already ridiculous backlog.

Why do publishers release all of their best games at the end of the year with everything else? Surely this has a negative effect on sales? I would love to buy Fable II, GoW 2, Farcry 2, and CoD 5, but after buying Fallout 3, RB 2, and NHL 09, I'm tapped out until Christmas. I can't be the only one in this situation.
