My 360 sounds like a jumbo jet taking off, so I pretty much go for PS3 whenever it's otherwise equivalent, especially for single player games. I wish I had the $ for a gaming PC, but I don't right now. Oh well.
If you install games, it will be much quieter since the spinning is a large part of the noise. Yep, I do. It's a little quieter, but not by much. The 360 may be on it's last leg; it's pretty old. It also has a tiny hard drive and can only handle 1 fully installed game without me deleting other DLC and XBLA games that I've purchased. Anyhoo, I guess I answered my own question and will get the PS3 version of Skyrim.

My current PC can't do Skyrim justice, so I'll likely hold out until I get a new rig sometime around Black Friday. It'll be tough reading all the impressions around here in the meantime... unless it's a disapointment, in which case I will feel awesome for not buying it right away.

I've decided on Skyrim for the 360 instead of PC. Just a better gaming setup with the TV and such not.
hook up pc to tv? pretty sure the game lets you use a controller too. depending how it works, I may do just that too. PC in another room so not possible. There is the possibility of a double dip and I can get both versions but I did that with Oblivion and didn't play it much on the PC. No CoD for me either, tired of being grist for the mill every match. No skillz for these types of games.

I'm getting MW3 on the 360.
I'll get Skyrim when I finish Morrowind and Oblivion. So in about 10 years, I guess.

No Hardon to smash in MW3? Hardon will be missed. You could never smash him anyway because he would just be teleporting around the screen

Is there any indication whether the PS3 or 360 version of Skyrim is better?
The PC one will have better graphics and eventually will have mods. This combined with cheaper means I will get it on PC when I get it. Won't be anytime soon though. Batman and Skyrim will be bought on PC eventually.
Get it on PC.
I was replying to Morgul on how to get around having his kid know that Skyrim is boughten.

I really want to buy Skyrim but it is so hard to justify with the huge a*& backlog I have. I probably will give in but it is hard to think I will have any more luck finishing this.

I think I will get Skyrim despite being severely tempted to get Deepak Chopra's Leela or the Black Eyed Peas Experience instead.
Oh man, even though I am excited about Skyrim I hadn't heard about The BEP Experience. Is this the one where the CE contains wigs and makeup so you can cross dress as Fergie and learn how to dance like that Matrix guy? If so, count me in! Let's get it started in here! Everybody!

Good Idea and I may have to do that, thanks for the suggestions.
I guess I am opposite of most people though. If a game comes on on the PS3 and the PC, I get it on the PS3.
Mods? I have never really used them. Good looking graphics, yea, I like those.
But, most games nowdays seem optimised for that controller, and I like sitting in the lazy boy, kicked back, infront of the larger screen TV.
My PC is used for games not on the PS3 and old games, TBS, MMORPG sometimes.
IE- GOG games, The witcher 1/ The witcher 2, Civ 5 and now Heroes of might and magic 6.
BUT, hiding the skyrim install deep in a folder on the PC may be the ticket I need in my present situation.

May I suggest this, and this? Then you can play from PC onto TV, with wireless 360 controller to PC. Everything is hidden, plus now you can use TV for PC purposes.

I play games on my PC on a big screen (42") with a controller. So it's the best of both worlds. Comfy chair, big screen, controller, better graphics, and cheaper.

MW3 tomorrow, but it will get pushed aside for Skyrim on Friday.
Desperately trying to finish up Uncharted 3 tonight. I'm on Chapter 21 so I think I'm close.

I discovered I had enough Amazon points to cover the game so what could I do? I mean they practically forced me to buy the game.

MW3 and Skyrim. Of course next week I'll be away because it's our anniversary. Had I known 32 years ago that I'd be playing video games that would chose mid-November for their big releases I might have moved the date up a bit!

Had she known 32 years ago that you'd STILL be playing video games, you probably wouldn't have had to worry about a date at all. EDIT> Oh, and probably Skyrim for me, unless I miraculously get into the SWTOR beta before the end of the week, in which case I'll dedicate my weekend to Bioware instead of Bethesda. YOU HEAR THAT, BIOWARE? THIS IS YOUR LAST MOST RECENT CHANCE! - Ash

Is there any indication whether the PS3 or 360 version of Skyrim is better?
From the anecdotal evidence I've read, it seems like the PS3 version looks a little better, but the 360 version runs a little better. It doesn't seem like there's a big difference, so it probably shouldn't matter either way.

Also, I think Destructor is just messing with us now. I'm pretty sure half of the titles on that list are made up, as I refuse to believe that there exists a game called Wappy Dog oh yes, it is real. I remember writing the front page press release for that during E3. I've tried forgetting. No amount of brain bleach seems to work.
