Borderlands PC is already paid for, DJ Hero for the 360 is a maybe depending on impressions (and how much credit they give me for Demon Souls).  I may check out League of Legends at some point too.

T-minus 12.5 hours until borderlands unlocks for the real game.

What, you're trading in a great game for a game from activision? Dear god.

I don't have the time to commit to it, plus I'm thinking of getting rid of my PS3 anyways.

You forgot my most anticipated PC game of the year - Torchlight!  Adventures To Go and Atelier Annie look interesting, but I'm waiting on reviews.

What's with these convoluted Wii and DS titles:

Quote
All Star Cheer Squad 2
Ni Hao, Kai-Lan: Super Game Day
Ben 10: Alien Force Vilgax Attacks
Atelier Annie Alchemists of Sera Island
Petz Dolphinz Encounter
The Backyardigans
Diner Dash: Flo on the Go

They're like some nonsensical association of words that might form after your mind's been subjected to a mad scientist's mind probe.

And does anyone know if this game -Barbie And The Three Musketeers- carries an ESRB 'M' rating?  eek

Only possible purchases for me are this weeks VC or XBL games - whatever they might be. Yes, I will maintain my will power and not purchase Forza 3.

Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis? The steam version unlocks in 7 hours, and I think the retail version might be unlocked already (though I haven't found confirmation of that yet).

I've got Borderlands on PC, Forza 3, and last night I caved and pre-ordered Torchlight.  At least I'm being forced to wait at least an extra week for Dragon Age.  Which means I'll get that right around CoD time.   crybaby

Torchlight and Forza 3 for sure.  Tekken 6 maybe.  I'm still resisting on Borderlands because of all the other games coming out in the next 2 weeks.

For me, it's Forza 3 and probably Drawn to Life.  I'll get R&C someday (and maybe this week, depending on how B2G1 works out at BB), but I still have to finish ToD and QfB.  I may wind up with Tekken, again depending on the B1G2.

WiiWare
Ghost Mansion Party
Gameloft (1000 Points, 1-4 Players, Rated E - Mild Cartoon Violence)
Quote
Fazzy the ghost has been locked out of his mansion by some evil spooks, and he's willing to give his treasure to anyone who can chase them out. Work cooperatively and competitively with friends and family to defeat the ghosts and discover a huge hidden treasure. Travel around this wild mansion in board-game fashion, landing on mini-games that everyone can enjoy. You'll even engage in challenges on the board itself as you try to collect magic scrolls and hints to reveal the secret word that will open the doors to the treasure. Get your Wii Remote™ controllers ready - you're about to play with them in ways you've never imagined.
Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 3
Telltale Games (1000 Points, 1 Players, Rated E10+ - Comic Mischief, Language, Mild Suggestive Themes)
Quote
In the third Tales of Monkey Island chapter, Guybrush gets in deep - literally - as his quest for the voodoo exfoliating La Esponja Grande takes a scenic detour through the guts of a giant manatee. Our hero encounters a surprising band of castaways, including the long-lost explorer Coronado De Cava. Can the Mighty Pirate win the suspicious De Cava's trust? Will sexy pirate hunter Morgan LeFlay prove to be a ruthless enemy or an unlikely ally? Will the group find La Esponja Grande in time to save Elaine from the rampant Pox of LeChuck? And will the world be crushed by the gnashing teeth of a certain demonic skull? Tales of Monkey Island's moist and absorbing third episode, "Lair of the Leviathan," will answer some of these urgent questions and raise even more as the five-month adventure builds to its epic climax.

Virtual Console
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Konami (800 Points, SNES, 1-2 Player, Rated E10+ - Cartoon Violence)
Quote
You will play the game as one of two brave kids: Zeke or Julie. Both kids use the same control scheme and have the same characteristics. If you're playing in two-player mode, each player must pick a kid. You can't have two Zekes or two Julies. Each player starts with three lives. When your life bar runs out, you lose a life. There are hidden 1-Up bonuses in the game. You may also earn bonus lives if you have 10 victims left when you finish a level. Get ready to conquer 48 levels of giant ants, mad scientists and big babies. Find seven bonus levels (look for the question marks), earn points and stockpile your water pistols and other weapons.
Golden Axe
Sega (900 Points, Megadrive, 1-2 Player, Rated E10+ - Blood, Fantasy Violence)
Quote
In this original arcade game that launched the popular Golden Axe series, the evil Death Adder has invaded your land and taken the king and princess prisoner. Three mighty warriors step forward to bring the villain to justice: powerful fighter Ax Battler, Amazon warrior Tyris Flare and mighty dwarf Gilius Thunderhead. They will use their weapons and magic to fight their way through Death Adder's hordes. Along the way, they'll mount fearsome, fire-spitting beasts to help even the odds. Team up with a friend and enjoy two-player simultaneous game play for a better chance of survival.

Nintendo DSiWare
PictureBook Games: The Royal Bluff
Nintendo (500 Points, 1-4 Players, Rated E)
Quote
Aristocratic opponents square off in PictureBook Games: The Royal Bluff, a game of strategy and deceit. Compete for points by adding or subtracting colored chips from rows on the game board and trying to guess each of your opponent's secretly assigned chip colors. Once you're confident in your deduction, issue a Call Out attempt to earn bonus points - at the risk of giving your opponent an extra point if you're wrong. Three modes of play (Tournament, Free Play, DS Wireless Play) offer a variety of options, from facing off against an assortment of computer opponents to competing in a wireless match with up to four players. Throw Trick Cards into the mix and you've got a winning combination of tactics and trickery that's sure to score points.
SUDOKU
Electronic Arts (200 Points, 1 Players, Rated E)
Quote
SUDOKU offers hundreds of number-crunching puzzles that will stretch your brain power to the limit. Take it even further by playing in the exclusive Newspaper Mode. Add a daily puzzle from your favorite paper and build your very own collection. From Easy to Insane, a total of five different levels are available for novices and masters alike. Enjoy a host of grid designs that will keep you coming back for more. This worldwide phenomenon delivers an exhilarating game of logic that's not only challenging, but also surprisingly relaxing. It's everything you want for a quick puzzle getaway. Make life easier by taking advantage of smart features like automatic annotation for effortless calculation of your achievements. Stumped? Get help with error-checking tools and friendly cell hints. Track your stats and test your reaction time with the in-game timer. This addictive brain game has been polished to perfection and renders a sleek design that's easy on the eyes.

Forza 3 is going on my gooxez list so I should have it sometime next year. Tongue It was a must have until I read Reemul's initial impressions. It sounds like I'd prefer to play Test Drive Unlimited again rather than F3.

You forgot my most anticipated PC game of the year - Torchlight!

Completely forgot that one, sorry. And blame Gamespot for that one - they didn't update their release list over the weekend like they usually do (as they've been my source as of late).

And yes, the shovelware of stuff on the Wii and DS is...annoying. Gotta love this time of year.

Finally - is the GTA expansion out this week?

Doubt it. Remember the demograhic this game is aimed at is squarely hip-hop, male, and not white smile population, so your usual forums may not be a good indication of how well the game is selling. The turntable alone has got to cost $50 to make.

Early projections are that demand is pretty low so far.  This is a $120 game that uses a completely unfamiliar mechanic from an unproven developer.  White or otherwise, they have a serious uphill battle on their hands with this one.  And manufacturing cost won't stop them from being discounted heavily if they don't move.  Look at all the deals on Rock Band and Guitar Hero hardware.  I know for a fact that cost on the RB2 bundles is more than the $99 you can get it for these days.

I think I'm going to wait to see what holiday sales there are on it myself.

Biggest buy week of the year for me with DJ Hero (I saw a demo of it at the local Best Buy and it was fabulous), Forza 3, and Torchlight.

I also tried the demo at BB a bit ago and thought it was pretty weak.

I liked the music a lot more than I expected to, and that got me curious, but I find the mechanic of having to hit one of three close together buttons on a wobbly rotating disc while keeping your eyes on the screen less than ideal.  Also my daughter hated it.
