Let me just preface this post by saying this - I am missing WAY too many good games because developers insist on releasing every game on the planet this time of the year. Anyway, here's the question:

As for me, my must purchases include Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (360) and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Games I'm missing out on due to there being way too many fucking releases this time of year include Phantasy Star Online, Splinter Cell, Star Trek: Tactical Assault, .Hack, and the latest Guild Wars addon.
EDIT: Just realized that Children of Mana isn't a release title this week. Guess I'll just stack it onto next week's purchases (FFXII and Neverwinter Nights 2).

Nothing yay!
Bought 4 new games this weekend (Bully, The Godfather, TW 2007, NBA 2K7) as well as pre-ordering Gears of War and FFXII. GHII is the only thing left this year I am aware of that needs to be purchased. Any leftovers go on the Christmas list, including previous 360 releases Just Cause and Splinter Cell. Who am I kidding, I'm sure there are at least a half dozen other games coming out that I will buy... I will end up with NFS:Carbon and the 360 DDR game too.

Plate is already pretty full, so I don't think I will make any actual purchases this week. However, the following are very likely to end up on my Christmas List:
Phantasy Star Universe (if reviews say the single player campaign is up to snuff)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (might opt for the Xbox version over the 360 version since the asthetic is better but I'll see what the reviews say)
Touch Detective
Magical Starsign (probably will wait for a price drop, supposedly isn't very good)
.Hack GU (I have a very strange desire to play through the first four .Hack games now that they have dropped in price but they'll have to wait for a large block of free time)
And, I'll definitely be getting Dark Messiah next year after I upgrade my PC.

Hmm... Marvel Ultimate Alliance for the 360. Tempted by tactical assault and dynasty warriors vol. 2 for the psp. However, I am poor, and they keep releasing dozens of games inside of a couple months that I want. So... probably just Marvel.

I be poor, yarrr. I had money down for PSU (360) but after playing it, I'm not sure I have the time and patience for grinding. I've already got 54hrs into Samurai Warriors 2 and I'm just leveling Nobunaga Oda. That's enough grinding for me, thanks. As to Marvel Ultimate Alliance, does anyone know the ESRB rating for that? Doh! Just checked. Teen for mild language and violence. My son loves superheroes (due to an early exposure to them by my ex-wife  He's only 3 and wants nothing more than to "Kill badguys". ) I don't think that game would help him any. I'm actually thinking of not letting him play video games without me playing with him at the time. That limits the games quite a bit. I might just get myself a Wii so he can have at least a LITTLE physical activity while playing games. Other than that, he's only getting age appropriate games, regardless of what she does. |

I'm interested in Marvel Alliance, but I still want to finish up Lego Star Wars II, I'm really enjoying Tiger Woods 07 right now and I've barely scratched the surface of SC: DA. So pass for now.

I got Ultimate Alliance for the 360 on pre-order. Dark Messiah is on my list, but I'm going to wait and see what sales there are for it. I'm going to hold off on SW:EAW:FoC until they release the inevitable compilation of the 2. oh, and if I see the first 4 .Hack games I'm going to grab them for future play.

I have Tony Hawk on reserve for DS.
I have ST: Legacy reserved for 360, but am quite interested in Tactical Assault for DS. Probably something I'll wait til later though, since I'm playing Contact right now, and am supposed to be getting Magical Starsign and Children of Mana.
D'oh! Forgot I have some interest in Touch Detective as well...too many things all at once.

The funny part is from what I've heard, the demo on DQVIII really, really sucked. Showed pretty much nothing of the real game. So to say you're impressed means that you'll really like it. |

i just picked up SC:Double Agent a week late, along with 1600 Marketplace points for only $5 thanks to BestBuy's current deal. i'll probably finish out the year with Gears of War, RS:Vegas, Forza2, and possibly Tony Hawk:Project 8 next month. then it's just a matter of waiting for GH2 early next year...
