Is it like steam in that there is a separate client? Or do you just dl and play?

I am salivating over the opportunity to play Betrayal at Krondor again...and silent storm looks hawt.

And they've been tweaked to run on modern machines.

They do a good job with that, but there are times where the tweaks aren't the best ones or don't completely work as well as you'd like, but that's to be expected and is rare.  In those instances, you can usually do a quick peek in their forums and find fixes aplenty.

You can download directly from their website and there's an optional download manager you can use which might be better for downloading larger files in case it gets interrupted.  But once you d/l the installer, there's no steam like online activation when you reinstall

They usually have weekend deals where games are 50% off.  I usually wait for those.

Yeah, I have about 20 games from GOG and I'm a happy customer. I love being able to keep the installer on my computer so I can reinstall whenever I feel like it.

One thing to keep in mind is that gog.com is not a US company and that purchases will incur a foreign transaction fee on your credit card.  The fee is typically less than a dollar, but just be aware of this when you see it on your credit card statement.

Yeah my favorite download service out there, totally hassle free, and easy to add mods to any of their games.

GoG is great! If you decide to grab something from them, please go to them from one of the GoG ads you see on the site.
