GHWT on Wii (not listed)
And Ron said it wasn't coming out this week on the Wii. Shows what he knows.

Fable 2 for me! Fable 2; one of the reasons I bought my 360 and one of the exceptions to my "no offline mplay = no buy" rule. And my understanding that there is offline mplay. If the person has an account on the box then they can use their character, similar to how online works and if not then they can join in as a generic henchman.

Bioshock PS3 I bought it on the PC last year, but I want to play this gem on HDTV.
Far Cry 2 PC or PS3 The first one is still my favorite first person shooter of all time. But I am unsure which one to get, PC or PS3. I want to see this puppy on my HDTV, but I am not use to the console controls of a shooter. I like my keyboard and mouse. This is a very tough decision.
Guitar Hero World Tour PS3 I need to have a talk with my wife on this one before I take the plunge. I have yet to try a 'Rock Band' type of game. I'm very interested in rocking out on my favorite tunes.
Wii Music is for the family at christmas.

So, for those anxiously anticipating Far Cry 2, did you play the PC version or the original Xbox version? CeeKay's comment about the PC version not having any animal powers makes me wonder how dissimilar the two versions may be. Is the original Xbox version a completely different game from what PC gamers played? I was at first disinterested in Far Cry 2 as I found the original to be yet another FPS, but if the PC version was different and of higher quality, then perhaps Far Cry 2 is worth a look.

Far Cry 1 PC and Far Cry 1 Xbox are completely and totally different games. Totally different developers too. Crytek created Far Cry on PC and then sold the franchise to Ubisoft (whose internal studios have made all of the Far Cry games since) and then Crytek went off and made Crysis. Further, Far Cry 2 shares nothing in common with the mythos, and story of *any* of the Far Cry 1 games and even gameplay is radically different in the sense of using one, large, open-world style map instead of the level based approach of Far Cry 1.

all of course begs the first question asked about the game since it was announced: why call it far cry if it has nothing other than the name in common?

Recognizable and successful IP is always a plus for game publishers. Also, there are some broad gameplay similarities. Though Far Cry 1 (PC) was level based, the levels were pretty huge with numerous ways of approaching situations and Far Cry 2's open world really does seem a natural evolution of that.

I played Far Cry on the PC only. Still is my favorite shooter, loved the openess, multiple ways of getting through a fire fight, and believe it or not I liked the save system. It made me think of the many different ways to approach a situation. I appreciated the game much more. The last 10 to 20% of the game was awesome.

I thought the end of Far Cry blew.
The openness of Far Cry 2 sounds a lot like Operation Flashpoint, or even ArmA. I'm excited to see how they match up, with the obvious difference of military sim vs. FPS aside.

Per Kato expressing interest in co-op Fable 2, Fable 2 and possibly Far Cry 2... lots of shooters at the moment... might be shooter'ed out unless of course there is good MP to be had.

My pre-order for Fable2 will be available at midnight where I live. Going to skip FARCRY2 for now, like you said too many shooters atm. From last week I gotta pick up dead space as well.

Bioshock PS3 Rockband 2
really really tempted by Fable 2. I loved the first one, but I'm not sure it quite tips the scale into "need a 360" territory.

I thought the end of Far Cry blew.
It was ridiculous... I had God Mode enabled, and still took forever to get past all those freakin' Tri-Gens.

Fable 2 for sure. I was thinking about racing and Midnight Club 2, so that's a possiblity too. This week is a gaming jackpot.

Anyone have experience with Target's speed in putting out new PC releases? I have to pick up a DustBuster so I thought I would kill two birds with one stone.
