Dear bloody lord.
Well, I already grabbed the 'special edition' of Rock Band 2 for the 360 yesterday, and I intend to grab Fable 2 tomorrow, along with possibly the new DS Castlevania game. Beyond that, this insane release week is just passing me by. Nice work, Publishers.
What are you buying this week?

Everyone just relax. there's no reason to fear this beast. It's power lies in it's ability to charm you ... to make you think that you need everything at once. Before taking on this monster, remember two things. #1 is that just one game will be enough to sustain you, and ... #2 - the other games aren't going anywhere.
For me, Fable 2 360. I'd buy more, and I definitely want more, but I just am not going to have time to play everything at once.
My 'to definitely buy in the near future' list is:
Far Cry 2 PC Dead Space (PC or PS3)
Gah, that's kind of it. The mother of all release weeks only hits me for 150 damage.
However, Newegg will have a 42" LCD TV on sale tomorrow morning (21st) for $599 shipped on their shell-shocker sale, and I'm highly interested in that.

Hmm I'll need to watch that one. Wii Fit is kinda weak, but if this makes better use of the balance board my wife might be interested.

360: Fable 2 Far Cry 2 Midnight Club: Los Angeles - Someday next year Spider-Man: Web of Shadows - Maybe, waiting on reviews, but probably next year The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon - at another time, I would have been IN, but now probably not
Wii: Carnival Games: Mini Golf - tempting, but probably not, unless reviews are really good Wii Music - the one good review scared me, but unless I see good impressions here, I'm probably out
DS: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia - down the road, yes, but I'm concentrating on DQ IV
Not too bad, then, really. Only two for sure.
Also I thought Legendary (no longer The Box) was coming this week. If so, I'm waiting on reviews, but I'm interested.

I've been saving a BB gift card for Fable 2, so that's a definite. I was able to resist Dead Space last week after the store I stopped at to pick it up was out of the game. My wallet was able to talk some sense into me on the drive home after that.
I'm interested in Far Cry 2, but I don't know whether to get it for the PC or the 360.
Definitely picking up Fallout 3 for the 360 next week, though!

Fable 2; one of the reasons I bought my 360 and one of the exceptions to my "no offline mplay = no buy" rule. I'm tempted by Gradius II on VC as I've heard the TG-16 version is the best in the series. Unfortunately, I've also heard it's difficult to the point of torture. Besides, I'm put off a bit by Konami's need to tell a gofer not to "yabou" in the title.

EB reports it as a 10/28 release, so next week. I'm not sure though. Wii Music - the one good review scared me, but unless I see good impressions here, I'm probably out
After IGN's 5/10 review of where they gave this wonderful tagline of "Our condolences to the two and a half million people who buy this game.", I'm gonna assume that it's an all-ages crapfest. Especially where they mention that even if you go into a seizure on the floor, you'll succeed in this game.

I'll probably put Fable II on my Christmas list. Having played GH:WT I think I'm going to hold off unless reviews indicate I should give it a second chance. As I never finished Far Cry on the original Xbox, perhaps I'll get back to it before deciding on Far Cry 2.

Far Cry 2 is a sequel in name only, so playing the first isn't required at all.

I only managed to get far enough to get the special animal powers but I wound up losing interest as the stealth gameplay wasn't very well implemented and in most instances you'd wind up in a firefight no matter how stealthy you tried to be.

I've only played the PC version of Far Cry, which didn't have the animal powers, so I can't comment on that. I did give up on the PC version a little bit after the mutants started showing up, and Far Cry 2 is supposed to be mutant free.
