June usually marks the start of the dry gaming release schedule, but this year, June sees the release of several big games, and August does as well.  Don't those companies want us to see the outside of our gaming dens?  Let's take a look at this weeks titles:

PS4
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Worms Battlegrounds
1001 Spikes
Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate
War Thunder

XB1
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Worms Battlegrounds

WiU
1001 Spikes
I've Got To Run - eShop
Chubbins - eShop

PS3
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Ultra Street Fighter IV - upgrade from SSIV

360
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Ultra Street Fighter IV - upgrade from SSIV

3DS
1001 Spikes
Tomodachi Life

Vita
Hyperdimension Neptunia PP
PlayStation Vita Pets
1001 Spikes
Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate

PC
Wildstar (early launch for pre-orders was last week.)
1001 Spikes
Murdered: Soul Suspect

Other than PJ Shooter Ultimate, I am sitting this one out.  I did pick up a copy of R&C for PS3 though.

I would have bought Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate, but it seems I'll get it as part of PS+, so...

I just watched a trailer for Murdered: Soul Suspect.  That actually looks really interesting and now I’m eagerly awaiting reviews.  For some reason I had thought it was some kind of JRPG…

I'd rather be watching hockey.

OMG, it really does sound like a JRPG name!

And yeah, I haven't seen anything about it, er, except that it was running a little slowly at a convention when showed. However, considering I thought really poorly of Wolfenstein and that turned out great, Murdered could be fun.

Pfft, it's way too clever to be a JRPG title. Those are simply combinations of random words that the Japanese find appealing in the English language, and they rarely make sense. Nobody expects them to be able to pull off a pun as well as make both the pun and the original title make sense.

Yeah, go figure. Normally I complain about this pretty heavily (no games during summer when the kids are out of school and such as it's a perfect buying season), but this year it's all different. Maybe blame the new console generation? I dunno.

Day One - Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate (from PS+), maybe Tomodachi Life (seems like great wacky fun, but I worry about longevity)
Eventually - Murdered: Soul Suspect, Worms Battlegrounds

Nothing this week. I am interested in Murdered: Soul Suspect, but the reviews would have to be stellar for me to add yet another game to the backlog right now.

The fact that it's from Square Enix probably helped with that impression.

I'm waiting for reviews, for sure, but I'm intrigued by the concept.

Pixel Junk Shooter for free is a definite (even if I already played through it).

I'm also interested in War Thunder*, but that's usually the case with WWII flight sims.  No idea what side of the arcade/sim scale this falls.

And, on the one hand, 1,001 Spikes is from Nicalis of Cave Story fame, on the other hand, they set out to make one of the most challenging games of the year.  I don't need that, but the pedigree is good.

*Apparently, it's a free-to-play MMO with "refreshing" microtransactions.  Worth a try.

Murdered: Soul Suspect on PS4 if the reviews seem positive.

No purchases for me this week.  Two big new games last week kind of blew my game budget for a little while.

I'm grabbing Wildstar (now that it's officially out, although I've been playing since Friday due to preordering), along with more than likely the Humble Weekly Bundle (RPG Maker and stuff).
