Yea, the demo I saw at E3 had me interested.  I've never played any of the WH40k series, this'd be my first...

Just so everyone is aware, the demo (by all reports I am reading) is going to be relatively sparse of content.  It is a demo for an expansion pack remember, so don't go into this expecting Relic to reveal too much, cause I doubt it will happen.

Just letting you know ahead of time cause I'm a nice guy...

Apparently just a couple Tau missions, that may be on the difficult side according to IGN.  It'd be great if their was a skirmish vs the Necrons, but it doesn't look like it.

Fuck, no skirmish?  Useless to me, me and the son were excited to try Skirmish with the new races.

I'm only going by what IGN said about the demo.  Apparently some of the Tau heavier units aren't in the demo either, another disappointment.

Correct. No skirmish and a lot of the units are missing.

After playing it extensively, I can defintely say I'm gonna pick it up. Still enjoy this series more than I do Company of Heroes, although a lot of that has to do with preferring the theme over WW2.

I know Company of Heroes is all the rage right now (as it should be, as it is a GREAT game)...

But, do not forget this expansion.

I don't know why I thought this was pushed back until early next year. Either way, consider it purchased ASAP.

I mainly interested in the strategic turn based campaign.  I hope the turn based AI is aggressive and challenging.  I also hope that it is very replayable.

pc.ign.com had a writeup this week on the strategic portion.  They didn't say much, but showed some screenshots.  First PC game in a while I'll buy the first day.

Relic has done a masterful job with the 40k license and content.  This is a day 1 purchase for me too.  I know they won't touch this in the current game, but I'd love to see the differences and characteristics of each of the SM Chapters and Chaos Legions implemented in a future game.  Playing the Ultramarines should be a different experience than playing the Blood Angels, and playing as the Alpha Legion should be different than the Black Legion.  If they could do that, my dork love for Relic would be complete.

They certainly have.  A bit off topic, but since Relic has re-aquired the Homeworld license, I am super curious what their next project will be.  They have the obvious expansion to Company of Heroes on the horizon (which will likely be what we see next), the very popular and successful Dawn of War series of games (that they could and hopefully will adopt into a newer engine), and the possibility of re-visiting the Homeworld Universe (which I personally would nearly kill for).

I just hope the programming team doesn't get tired of making RTS games, cause in my opinion, they absolutely excel at it.

I believe they have the ability to develop one more game for Warhammer, based on the original agreement.  Not sure where I saw that mentioned.  Probably this thread and I'm to lazy to check.

I'd love a new, more detailed Dawn of War, or Homeworld 3.  Either of those would simply be incredible.  A CoH expansion I think will definitely come and surprise no one.

Relic makes fantastic games.

Another small article up at Gamespot.  Nothing special really.
Gamespot 9/22

AND

A slightly older article at Gamespy that is actually neat to read.  Two reviewers from their site talk a bit about how the new races play.  If you missed this one...

IIRC, there are plans to make Dawn of War 2 using the CoH engine.  This will give them a stronger graphic engine.  Of course, this is something I read in passing 8 months ago...so take it as you will.
