Oh that is freakin' sweet!   Thanks KD.

I wonder if I can decorate my house in a Spanish/Asian theme?????

"Hello, and welcome to the home of Poncho Domingo Akio Jen Li.  Would you like some tea, saki, or tequila before kicking my ass?"

- - - - - -

Does anyone know if there is a practice mode in this game?  I think Soul Caliber and Mortal Kombat had practice modes where you could try and get some moves down.  If this isn't a button masher, I may need something like that to at least on occasion score a hit on someone.  Of course, if this tag-team feature works well, the only button I really need to memorize is the one that tags in your partner!   biggrin

In as well

I am the worst player when it comes to fighters.   Kicking my ass is almost a given.  I also my victories on just being able to score a hit or two.

I am really looking forward to this

I just read the IGN review and I found this little nugget for those of us that know we will get our asses kicked

Quote
There are 45 achievements spread across all modes, which is an extraordinary amount of achievements. You'll unlock one by beating the story mode once, another by playing the game for five hours, another for playing it 10 hours, another by beating the timed mode in a certain time, and more. A bunch are unlockable by vying online, like playing 50 matches unbeaten for an achievement, or surviving 100 matches unbeaten online. Itagaki likes to make you work for everything. Team Ninja's trademark sense of humor is also well captured in the online mode. If you lose five times in a row, you'll earn an achievement...of zero points. Nice.

Should be.  I'm pretty sure there was a practice mode in the other DOAs.

Is it the bitterness towards the 360, DOA or both?

Bitterness at not having one mostly.

Plus, I don't have an HDTV, so getting a 360 until I get one of those is sorta moot. frown

Besides - its not how it works.  The Devkits connect to a completely seperate Live called Partnernet to prevent just this kinda thing. smile

Yup, that's it.  Partnernet is like a "shadow" Xbox Live where everything is available and points flow like water from fountains smile  Unfortunately it means that since I don't have a 360 at home yet (frown) no one can see my amazing Geometry Wars achievements smile

if not having an HDTV is your only reason for not picking up a 360 yet, you're really missing out.  i've been playing mine on a 25" standard-def tv and it still looks great...way beyond anything done by older consoles.  i just loaded up the demo of Condemned and the graphics are amazing...the near photo-realism of PGR3 isn't bad either.  it's definitely still worth checking out without HD Cool

My local EB up here in Ontario just told me that they won't be getting it in 'til the middle of next week. He said the Customs people at the border "must be on holiday" -- whatever that means!! :?:

Disappointed

I've never played a DOA before. Is it at all a button-masher? If it is, I don't think I'd be interested. The only fighting game I've really gotten into was Street Fighter II, and that's because I enjoyed the tactical pacing of the game. My God, was I hooked on that game in college...

My two favorite fighting game series are Soul Calibur and DOA and I'd have to say that SC is more of a button masher than DOA.  Reason being that SC is a weapons fighter and seems to have more moves so whichever direction you push along with a button seems to do a different move whereas in DOA you'll sometimes get the same move.

I'm definitely in on this one and hope to check out some of your "homes."  smile

Picked my copy up at lunch today.

I will find the hottest girl in the game, dress her with as little clothing as possible, and while you all sit entranced by her jiggleness - I will unleash her wrath upon you.  Hee-yah!  /Kung-fu chop

That is my plan, and you will not be able to resist.

Let's get some tag-action going soon!

This will be a weakness of High Def TV owners. Standard def users may be immune.

Fun!  Played through the story mode once so far.  Incredible graphics... fast pace... the ai tends to punish you if you make a mistake.  Very fun end cutscenes.

So far a very worthy DOA game.
