Dang! I *love* the new format of the site. I love the clean front-page with just enough info for me to know whether I want to click into a topic or skip past it. You guys are doing great! Major props.
And with some of the rumors about future additions, I think this place is going to kick some serious bootay! Congrats to Ron and the rest of his team and best of luck to you guys into the future.

A tiny suggestion: remove the "console" from the Road to Gold and Game Trading. If you want to be on your own, separate from Gone Gold, act like it. People who come here should know it's all about console gaming. Gone Gold didn't have "PC Road to Gold" did they?

Like the new forums! It's a little harder adjusting to the white background (which is burning my retnas), but the speed is great!
Personally, the Console forum was the only one I ever read on GG anyways so I'm quite happy to follow it over here. Keep up the good work Ron!

We were unfortunately not able to have any other skins ready for the launch. But believe me, it is in the plans for this to be a very "user choice" forum in how they want it to look. Can't give a timetable on it though unfortunately. |

Thread necromancy can be interesting if it's, for example, about a game that came out a while ago that someone just discovered. I think that as a point of etiquette, though, the resurrector should draw attention that that's what's happening.

If it's done just out of boredom, with no real purpose (such as resurrecting a thread about a game you're years late to play), how is doing this different from trolling? Even when someone does have a reason to bump an old thread, people still get confused by the thread necromancy. And in that case the date change was even explicitly mentioned. I dunno, I'd probably feel differently about this case if this or the other bump actually seemed funny. This one alone could've been harmless enough and maybe even worth a chuckle by itself, but with the other "bad parents!" one being completely pointless, it just makes them both annoying. If there was a third from the same person I would've reached for the report button. |
