GUILD WARS 2!!!!!!

I just... just.. couldn't believe it!! A friend of mine who works at ArenaNet send me a link to its current Beta late last night. I played all night.. and now I'm all bleary-eyed and hoped up on caffeine and just pure, unadulterated GAMING GOODNESS!! The starting areas are just masterpieces of MMORPG world design.. and I got my Guardian to level 14 in 5 hours!!

in reality, I'm just playing a lil bit of Rift over the weekend. Very busy work weekend for me. frown

I'm hoping to get some Dragon Age 2 and Rock Band 3 time in this weekend. But we are replacing the carpet in my bedroom with wood flooring. It should be done today, but I might have to spend a decent chunk of the weekend getting everything organized again.

I've got three games currently in rotation... about halfway through Dead Space: Extraction, just started another runthrough of Mass Effect 2 (this time with all the DLC), and Batman: AA.  I've also got two sick girls at home, so my gaming time might be limited.

Given how rarely I actually find the time to play what I say I am going to try to play, let's take advantage of the current holiday.

I'm going to play Mass Effect 2, MLB2K11, Assassin's Creed II, Fallout 3, NFS:Hot Pursuit, and revisit Limbo.

Probably more of the same:  Final Fantasy III on iPhone and Dissidia 012 on PSP.

Also trying to decide on which of the half-finished games I want to jump back into (DA2, Tactics Ogre, Beyond Good & Evil HD, or Sims Medieval)

at least you're allowed to joke about it- all of us on staff aren't even allowed to hint at the press previews we got for it.

anywyas, I'm sure I'll be playing a game of some kind, just not sure what.

I tried to make the snow outside disappear when I closed my eyes and wished myself a Happy April Fool's Day.  Alas, it did not work, so I'll have to stay in all day... and weekend... playing Fallout NV.  When my left thumb complains too loudly, I'll switch to stylus play - in this case, Battleheart on the iPod.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!  (Not really, I'm sick of it; enough, already - Pulleeeeze!)

It's supposed to hit 99 here in Phoenix.  At least it will drop back to the low 80's next week.  It's a little too early to already be hitting these temperatures.

It looks like both of us will be spending the day indoors, merely for different reasons.    icon_wink

Yeah, Pete, slightly different conditions, lmao.  When I was 9 years old and lived in Scottsdale, Arizona - we lived there for a year - I had to wear a sweater to school once  and that is not an April Fool's joke.  It also hailed once and rained once during that time, just in case we were pining for "weather."

See my "Let it Snow" post ; I was going to put the pics here until I went crazy and uploaded too many which made it a major derail.   icon_eek

Probably a bit of Shift 2 Unleashed on the PC, and possibly some Homefront if I can convince myself, or Crysis 2 if they have fixed the single player bugs.

BlOps - 360
Homefront - 360
dunno

Want to start something new but should get around to finishing off something else already started from the backlog. Almost to Prestige 15 in Blops and around chapter 4 Homefront on Guerilla. Need to load up Fallout 3 again since I'm forgetting where I left off already.

Starcraft 2 SP.  I set a self imposed requirement to finish the SP campaign of Starcraft 2 before I purchase Shogun 2.

Other than that, just tooling around the starter zones in Guild Wars 2 like everyone else this weekend.

Might & Magic VI.

No, seriously.  I got a netbook and M&M VI runs very well on it.  My last playthrough (1998) was interrupted by the birth of our first son, and I never got back to it; maybe I'll finish it this time.  Meanwhile, that son watched me play M&M VI last night and now he wants to play it himself.  How's that for making you feel old?

I may also put a little more time into Dragon Quest VI.  Time permitting.  Ha ha ha.

Interesting coincidence.

I've just recently started M&M VI again, too.

Just got my party through the Temple of Baa and they're up to lvl 9. It's held up quite well and I'm remembering why I loved it so much the first time around.

Wow.  Car damage has a percentage scale, knocking a door off a car is less than 5%, and there was a mission that I couldn't beat that required me to jump a river to even get close.  And the voice acting is horrid.  It's going back on Monday.

I'm starting my third month of primarily playing Tales of Vesperia. I played about twenty hours of the game when it first came out and put it aside when I started a new job. All the talk a few months ago about Tales Of Graces F being localized got me in a Tales mood and I restarted it.

I'm now 53 hours in and getting somewhat restless. I like the game (though it's not as good as I hoped it was going to be), but I'm itching to try something else for a change of pace. I pulled Red Factions: Guerilla off the shelf and started the tutorial and was instantly in familiar ground. Alex, the main character in RF, is voiced by the same actor who does the main character in Vesperia, and Alex's brother is also voiced by an actor who plays a major character in Vesperia.

Red Faction was ejected from the 360 and put back on the shelf.

Yeah, I think I'm about to enter the final dungeon (though you can never tell with a Tales game). I'm definitely enjoying the game enough to finish it; I just need to take a break from it for a few days.

I actually got far more gaming in this weekend than I anticipated.  I played a few franchise games in MLB2K11 and I also played a few hours of Mass Effect 2 spread out over the weekend.  I recruited Archangel, which was  icon_eek , and I hope to find my next recruit in the plague area in the next few nights.  I can't believe I've gone so long without playing this game.

I thought I'd be playing Fallout NV all weekend with a bit of the Braveheart - Battleheart I mean (iPod) here and there.  It turned out to be the opposite, though.  Lots of FO:NV on Friday, but when I started my "reading in bed" time with Battleheart... the next thing I knew it was 5 AM.  Saturday went pretty much the same and Sunday was filled with real-life MLB, NBA, and errr - Battleheart.

I'm looking forward to returning to New Vegas today, though, that was more than enough break;  I'm hoping to finish FO:NV this week so that I can get going on Dragon Age 2.  There, I said it out loud, so it must be true!

 icon_razz

Pete, that reminded me - I watched an old video game award show, and I'm hoping to also get into ME2 someday... and maybe Red Dead Redemption."  I just can't keep up.   icon_eek

One of the few gaming weekends that went according to expectations.  Passed the 12 hours mark in FF III (just unlocked the Fire Crystal), spent a bit of time with Dissidia 012 (Sunday is my bonus day, so I worked on leveling Laguna through quick battles.  The faster I can get through his story and on to a more interesting character, the better), and made some Act II headway in Dragon Age 2.  A very successful weekend overall.  smile
