Please note: If you like TBS games you must...MUST play Panzer Tactics on the DS.  It is absolutely fabluous.  Deep. Engaging.  Well built and just challenging enough to make you approach missions with care.  Brilliant!

I will also be firing up COD4 MP - I'm ranked 21 or so now and I'm still loving it.

Also we might be revisiting Gears of War MP for the first time in months (see the MP forum).

I'll also continue my playthrough of the wonderful Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

Awesome!

Just stop it.  The last thing I need right now is another handheld TBS game.

EDIT:  After checking out some previews, this will be pretty easy to avoid.   I really don't like military themed games.  Even Advance Wars was too much Army for me.

Friday:  Hoping to leave work early to head to the puppy swimmin' hole, and after that if I get home in time I might try to make ATB's Gears of War revival.  At 7pm I'll start the usual Friday night Halo 3 MP marathon, which typically only ends when I run out of beer or patience.

Saturday:  Teh wife and a friend are hosting a big Thanksgiving get-together complete with turkey and all associated fixins as well as an Italian alternative including antipasta salad, lasagna made from scratch, and of course lots of alcohol.  I've been tasked with the "entertainment" for the guys while the lady folk slave in the kitchen, and the day will see a Madden '08 double-elimination tournament, a fair bit of four-player Halo 3 versus action with the bottom two players swapping out, and of course a healthy dose of Guitar Hero 3.  We may even dabble in some 4-player versus Call of Duty 4, although if new players are limited to the first three initial classes then we may pass due to potential frustration.  The day will most likely end with everyone in a drunken tryptophan-induced coma.

Sunday:  NFL football followed by an obedience demonstration with the dogs on behalf of our trainer out in Gold Canyon.

I really enjoy fantasy or medieval TBS, but anything with modern military warfare turns me off.

I know I'm going to be practicing some guitar hero in preparation for Rock Band. GH1 & 2 on the PS2, with a rental of 'rocks the 80s' or GH3 possible.

And I'm hoping to finish off Oblivion. 55 hours in, and I'm about 330 achievement points from getting the full 1,000. (Will probably never bother with expansion, since I don't want to spend the 30$ on it)

Round that out with some Catan, Carcassonne and Beautiful Katamari.

My son and I will likely complete the medium difficulty on Guitar Hero II and move on to hard. We'll no doubt play lots of co-op  Super Mario Galaxy and possibly some co-op in Kameo and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. When my nephew arrives on Saturday we'll probably get nostalgic and play some Halo 2 co-op and possibly play through a few missons in Perfect Dark Zero. Then there'll be lots of NHL 08 involving me going head -to- head against my son + nephew in some Avs vs Canucks matches.

After reading what I just wrote, I'm shaking my head wondering how the hell I acquired so many games in the last month.  icon_confused

<crawls out from his backlog>

NWN1 - Kingmaker - Finishing off the last of the Diamond pack before I get Pirates of the Sword Coast and Wyvern Crown of Cormyr.

Tron 2.0 - Played bits of the first few levels while finishing off other backlog games I have. Now going to focus on it.

What year is it again?!  icon_biggrin

So many choices!

I'm expecting a new video card from Fed Ex any minute now at which point I'll install that in tandem with my other card for SLI mode. So I'll probably spend the weekend with PC games:

Crysis
Call of Duty 4
Bioshock
Hellgate: London
The Witcher
Tabula Rasa

And I'll probably have to load up Mario Galaxy and Assasin's Creed for a little playtime before Sunday night rolls around.

I want AC, but I think I will hold off til after the new year.  Same thing with The Witcher.  Will hit the gaming drought soon, so I think that will be a good thing for me

-(PSP) SOCOM: Tactical Strike (not turn-based, but very tactical and thoughtful still smile)
-(DS) Panzer Tactics (traded in some PSP titles towards it today)

Bring on more military themed turn-based games -- the market already has plenty of JRPG/Medieval/Fantasy TBS games. Variety is the spice of life, so give everybody something to choose from, mr. game publishers. ninja2

Probably playing a lot of Team Fortress 2, Halo 3 & hockey multiplayer with my son since he is with me this weekend.  I'm also giving him his birthday present:  Assassin's Creed.  Can't wait to watch him play this one.

Then on Sunday I'm going to begin final preparations for the arrival of M-A-S-S  E-F-F-E-C-T.  It begins with dusting off my entertainment center and Xbox 360.  I'll probably shampoo the carpet in the room too.  Next, off to the store to pick up various snacks and beverages for an extended four day gaming session.  I will send out notices to all family members that all electronic & cellular communications will be shut down into and out of my residence in New Jersey during the four day weekend.  I need to get my space suit out of storage and put away my KOTOR lightsaber (forever).  Brush up on my starship piloting abilities and begin pondering how I going to explore the universe!  I am going to completely and totally lose myself in the Mass Effect universe during the Thanksgiving weekend.  THIS IS WHAT GAMING IS ALL ABOUT!  nod

Finally getting some time to play again...

I'll likely try to make more progress with Final Fantasy IV (GBA), and am slowly working through Pokemon Leaf Green (GBA).

I'll also spend a bit of time with Panzer Tactics DS, and then I'm hoping to start some sort of an RPG or strategy game on the PC, but I'm not sure which yet.

Most of my weekend is accounted for with non-gaming stuff.  But I'm sure I can sneak in some TF2 in the evening.  And I picked up a used copy of Ninja Gaiden Sigma since I never got far in the Xbox Ninja Gaiden and was in the mood for that kind of game.  I'll put it though it's paces until it gets too hard and frustrating.

Warhammer (that's right, the tabletop one)
Painting for Warhammer 40K tournament next week

and in the intermission...

Team Fortress 2.

Damnit, I really need to work on clearing my backlog of games such as God of War (I and II), Shadow of the Colossus, Ninja Gaiden Black, Stalker, and so on.

While playing Gears of War for XBOX360, it just died...red ring of death!

So, I started to play Red Steel for Wii and it's not that bad as what people said. Graphic is so~so~ but it's like watching cheesy action-kung fu B movie.
I will most like finish this game over the weekend.
