Quite honestly Dragon Age [360] is really the only  day 1 for me so far. Wolfenstein, Operation Flash Point, CoD MW2 and Brutal legend are all titles I'm very interested in, but my purchases will based upon reviews and impressions.

All 360: MW2, AC2, Borderlands

I might get ODST just because my usual gaming buddies will be getting it.

Scribblenauts as gifts for the kids at Christmas.   Just so I can play it on their DSes.   I'd love to see it on an ipod touch though.

I'm pretty excited about Assassin's Creed 2 having replayed the first recently and enjoying it even more than I did the first time. The second looks better in nearly every way, so barring bad reviews, I'll be picking that up in a hurry.

I was interested in Dragon Age, but the more I hear the less I want it. I have a wait and see on that. Plus, I really don't want it for the 360 as much as the PC, but I doubt by PC can handle it, so I am weary in that respect as well.

And that's it. I thought 2008 was a disappointing year for gaming, though it ended up a little better than I expected, but 2009 has been an absolute dud. On the bright side I have enjoyed playing a bunch of old games this year. Finally finished Ultima VI for the first time on the PC! (I had only completed it on SNES before now...)

so many potentially great games coming up...

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Dirt 2
Need for Speed Shift
Halo 3: ODST
Mafia 2
Alpha Protocol
Brutal Legend
Dragon Age
Modern Warfare 2
Forza 3
Assassin's Creed 2
Uncharted 2

while those titles are all looking great, i think i'm more excited about Brutal Legend than just about anything else...looks like an incredible amount of fun.  i don't know how i'll find time to play so many games though, let alone a way to pay for them all...

Brutal Legend
Borderlands
Demon Souls(cause the CE is awesome and the game sounds awesome, despite me not even having a ps3)
Aion
Possibly wolfenstein
Cod:MW2
Maybe Dragon Age, but that game looks ridiculously cliched as shit. How the mighty have fallen.

That's about it. Luckily a lot of titles I wanted slipped in 2010. Between Aion and MW2 my time will be full as it is.

yeah, atlus rocks. that's the other half of the reason i'm getting it. i mean, i know they didn't make the game, but their fan services is above anyone else's.

i would've probably imported the game if i had a ps3 right now, glad i waited.

The only day 1 that I see is Scribblenauts, possibly Dragon Age depending on reviews (and because Bioware hasn't let me down yet).

Otherwise, the rest of the year looks like a giant pile of 'meh'.

Looking at those lists, Batman and Forza3 are the only ones that jump out as must have. I've had the Batman Batarang edition pre-ordered pretty much since the day they announced it.

Dragon Age is a strong possibility and Uncharted 2 is on the watch list (haven't put the time in to finish Uncharted yet).

I get into the Champions Online beta next week but it's doubtful I'll be willing to pay for it.

====

Beatles and Lego are the only Rock Band releases that have been announced? I'm not particularly interested in either, I want RB3 - whatever that is.

Pretty sure my're buy list will be Rock Band Beatles, followed by Lego Rock Band in November (assuming that I can still play my 388 tracks and counting worth of DLC in it).

Then Fallout 3 GOTY edition (never picked that up), and Left 4 Dead 2 will round out the year for me.

Will probably also grab a Nintendo first party Wii title.

Money is tight, so I'll probably just end up getting Madden, Beatles Rock Band, and Modern Warfare 2, since I know I'll be playing those a lot and get my money's worth. I don't even want to think about all the other games that are coming out, because there are a ton that I would really like to play, but just don't have the money yet.

Day 1 Purchases:
Dragon Age
Modern Warfare 2
Uncharted 2

Those 3 should take up most of my time so I guess these other games will just adorn my shelf:
Forza 3
IL2
Mafia 2
Batman (pending impressions)
GH5
Beatles
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
Dirt 2 (pending impressions)

I'm also getting Champions Online and currently subscribed to Warhammer mmo so I expect my backlog to get silly by the end of the year.

Luckily for me, I only have to do the research, not so much the buying at this time of year.  Between my mid-October birthday and Christmas, I will likely make out like the proverbial bandit.

I'm interested in several games, but what I'd pay for if I don't get it as a present, so far: Scribblenauts, ftw!  I'll also be buying someone else Rock Band Beatles, which I'll only ever hear, not play... which is providing a public service, really.

I now have three PS3 games that I'm watching - well, mostly I'm watching for a price cut on the PS3, then these games are in the running:  Dragon Age, White Knight, Demon's Souls.

I still have Persona 4, Star Ocean 3 (I've just started SO4), and Lost Odyssey waiting patiently on my shelves, and Left 4 Dead barely played, so I'm pretty well off for many months to come.

comeon CK, we know you're PC biased, but not even putting down the consoles for MW2? slywink

I'm getting Rock Band Beatles, Forza 3 and MW2, putting off all the rest until spring most likely.  Between Forza and MW I simply won't be playing anything else.

Possible purchase of Champions Online if I can afford and have enough friends playing, likewise with HoN/LoL, but only one of the three.

Absolute Day 1 purchases, waiting at the store as the doors open, creeping out the staff with my drooling:

Forza 3 (360)
Jumpgate Evolution (PC)

Pretty much a given either on release or shortly after:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (360)
Starcraft 2 (PC)

Very interested but waiting for final impressions/reviews and budget considerations:

Dragon Age (PC)
IL-2 Sturmovik (360)
Torchlight (PC) - I expect this one to be delayed though
