The Gamestop in Panama City (FL) was constantly advertising the DS Lite coming with a built-in web browser and now that it's out, where's the web browser? All I'm seeing on the search engines are a web browser in the making for the Japanese market (why do we Americans have it so bad? wait wait and wait some more, and even then we don't always get what they get!) but nothing solid on a U.S. web browser. The way the DS is built seems like it'd be a great way for surfing the web on the go with the stylus, the bottom screen you could simply punch in the letters while the top screen displays your pages. Much faster than the PSP and it's virtual keyboard.
Any ideas on when (if) a web browser might hit the U.S. market?

I was wondering about DS browser rumors too. What's the deal?

It's based on Opera and was demonstrated at E3. It is in the form of a DS cart (I had thought it was going to be GBA shaped, but not so, apparently). No idea what the release date is going to be, but my guess is this fall.
I don't recall seeing any reference to this being "built-in".

That alone could push my PSP well to the back of my playing time (or to the front of my trading line), if the DS web browser looks like it will have good enough input to, say, post to here and OO remotely, I'm definitely in.

i wish they would use the the GBA slot (like that filler piece that comes with the DS that is a smaller GBA cart) It would make more sense.

americans have it so bad??? Bah! At least you're getting a color other than white! I haven't used it (the browser) personally but the Nintendo Rep here had really good things to say about it. Yeah, I know how that sounds, but she knows her stuff and isn't one to just blow smoke.

Wasn't white the most popular color during the first release?

Got no problem with other people liking white...I understand it's a popular color...but I, personally, would have much preferred navy or black.
In the meantime, I'm happy with my old DS.

I like that alpine blue, or whatever it's called. But I got me the white.

Yeah I'd like black. Or something dark. Or even silver. White would be way down on my list if I was making a list.

Wasn't white the most popular color during the first release? The white one was the only one available for the first month due to some manufacturing problem.
