http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/03/300-for-3-000-xbl-gamer-points/

Someone posted on another board I read.  You can now spend $300 to increase your XBox Live gamerscore by 3000 points.
Personally I don't consider a high gamerscore something to be proud of in any case.  But for $300, it'd be easier to gamefly 3 EA sports titles from last year and King Kong and spend a few hours, if you really care about points.  Crazy.

i cant imagine anyone doing this, they should put the $300 away an put it towards a nintendo and zelda for when it comes out

Whew, for a minute I thought it was something available on the Marketplace.  Farmers ahoy.

Yah that's what I was thinking too. It's going to be expensive to catch those guys with over 70k gamerscore.

That's absolutely insane, IMHO. 3000 points for $300? Try maybe $30 and it's worth it (but still not really).

JLu's right about the rental thing though. Getting most of the points in the previous Madden games is about as easy as siming a whole season. Just a whole lot of A button presses to skip all the information screens.

And in the end, who really cares how many Gamerpoints you have? All it shows are the people who don't have a life (and/or school or work). Big whoop.

I don't understand why someone would want to do that.  I'd rather spend the $300 on something that's worth something.

Now, too bad it doesn't work the other way around.
If we could sell 3000 points for $300, I'd be spending a lot more time on my 360.
