Wow, I finally discovered a site that posts game/hardware sales for each month for free - should be good ammo for future discussions on this board smile

Apologies if its already been posted...

People are buying a lot of PSPs, but apparently nothing to play on them, compared to the DS.

Something's not right there.  They list the 360 console but no 360 games.  I even checked the full chart and Oblivion isn't on there anywhere.  Neither are PC games.

I noticed there were no PSP games sold at all (not on the summary list, anyway) in the US during May.

A good list, but still a few holes here and there.

Where do they get this stuff?

2005 (US Numbers)

11 Super Mario Sunshine
51 Madden NFL 2005

Madden '06 didn't even crack the Top 113?

Even you guys might have to think that's gotta be WAAAAAY off.

I would imagine Madden 06 would have easily been in the top 10 for the year.

Yea something's messed up with Madden 06 not being on at all. The game sold 2.5 million just in August last year.

The site is just getting started.  The guy that started the site posted about it on the GAF forums.  Apparently he has most of the data but he has to enter it and that takes time.

NPD will also have him assassinated.

Not only that, in the "All-Time" USA charts Fable for the Xbox isn't even listed, and it went over the 1 million mark. Ditto for a few other Xbox games.

That's the problem with essentially a fan site, the guy has to cobble together the sales stats by waiting and looking at all the "unofficial" NPD numbers that people post on the web. Granted NeoGaf is good for that but still it would be a pain in most foks asses.

The thing is color coded by which company the games are for.  And by this, it looks like there's either a heavy bias for Nintendo, or else Nintendo does better on average while Sony and MS have a lot of hit single games but an overall low average.  Or else the data is incomplete. biggrin

I'm gonna go ahead and infer that brutal means bad lol.

Looking at the console sales stats, I'm surprised at the fact that Nintendo has sold almost as many GBAs as Sony has sold PS2s.  I find that incredible, especially considering Nintendo probably profits from their GBAs while Sony doesn't from their PS2s.

I don't know a single family with kids that doesn't have at least one GBA.  We go to little league games and a lot of the brothers and sisters "watching" their big brother play baseball are really playing on their GBA.

I'm not surprised at all.
